I built one for s--ts and giggles and it was $113,000...I'll stick with my 2018 SL550 for that sort of money.

Build out a 2019 SL550 and tell us the price you get. $155+?

Also, if you put a 575 in it, it’s a waste, unless you’re in the mountains. The 460 is incredible.

One I built was only 97000, and clicked a lot of options. But I only need a 400

I would say you are both motor upgrades away from his price, basically. Sounds about right...

I think they’re selling around 100-105 so far aren’t they?

From what I’ve seen. Msrp anyway. The 400 will be plenty for where I’m located with the right prop. I believe one can be bought under 90k real money

Under 90 for a 400–that’s gotta be a screaming deal. With hardly any out there I would think that’s pretty rare at least this early?

The 460 is amazing. I would not discount how good it is. Unreal. The combo of reduction and the power is far beyond how good I thought it would be.

And this hog craves WEIGHT.

I posted a video on the Facebook on his page several times. Posting video on here sucks!

I can probably find more later I know that’s not a good one. But I’m a big dude: 6-4.

The wave is sick, and it’s not even close to done yet.

How is the 575 ever a waste? Waste maybe a little harsh...drive a boat with the 575 in it and tell me its a waste.

I think it’s a waste on the Moomba. Mainly because it’s not gonna resale the same. I think you’ll retrieve similar amount than even a 400 boat. And if you can do the same with less it’s always better. 575 will use a lot more fuel as well

You need to run a 460 with the reduction transmission. It’s a mind blow.

I regularly run an SL550 as well.

So I am not unfamiliar at all.

On this boat, UNLESS you’re a mountain man, it’s very unnecessary in order to max this boat. My opinion. I own one.

Basically the same thing i built but with Ultra blue flake. I told the lady she gets to pick colors this year. i still get veto powers though. She like teal and murdered out stuff, so hopefully she builds this:

This years colorizer gets more details than last.

Also, I built my exact 2018 build (Craz) and there is about a $6k MSRP increase.

I switched out the factory 15.5”—now running 16x16.25 OJ. I actually think I could use a little more length even, but this one is quite good.

Did they change prop shaft angles, prop shaft size to fit a larger prop?

Unknown. The 16 clears by 5/8, which is 1/8 less than what most OEMs would consider “enough.” But in 15 hrs or so of big weight I see nothing thus far. Not that minor burn would concern me tremendously.

Very nice I'm looking to increase prop size on my SE to be a bit more efficient, I think the 15x14.25 is a little over kill for the 550

Yours still may have a little bit of thickness on mine. But my boat throws down for sure. Just takes a lot longer to setup haha. But I’m getting a new boat in the spring

Not sure what thickness means. It’s impossible to compare waves based on pictures. All I know is I had my SE 450 set up to be a little bit heavier than Robert Garcia had his set up. It was insane. And this boat is very nearly the same as that, with a way better motor, more room, nicer shape, and a lot more storage.

As a 225 pound gentlemen, riding on a 4’8” board, if a wave doesn’t pack the sauce I can tell immediately.

Just meaning your wave has a more meatier look to it. Maybe just the difference in shape compared to a malibu. I know what you mean about being able to tell. If it doesn’t cramp your calves up, it doesn’t have enough push! Hahaha

This is the best looking Makai I have seen...hands down!! I am just not a fan of the gel lines and how forward the MOOMBA lettering is, but this hides it.

You ordering this one, if so I cannot wait to see real live pictures of it.

As an owner of a half black Craz, I would SERIOUSLY reconsider that color if you are in hard water. Black is a BITCH for water spots, and yes I have used Boat Bling and now Chemical Guys water spot remover and sure it looks good after you wipe it down...but 5 minutes after going back on the water it looks like crap again. In theory black gel coat looks awesome, but unless you wanna detail your boat after every session I say skip it.....

Metallic black is much friendlier at hiding spots if that is an option.

But agree black is a bitch but looks the best when clean

I have pure black LSV and love it! Sits in hard water lake from April to the end of Sept. it is a little more work. However, I started using Rejex and its no problem at all. Water spots wipe right off with a microfiber cloth dipped in lake water, the scum line wipes off with a wet rag. Works all summer, better than any wax I have tried and it’s cheap! Look it up on amazon and make sure to follow the instructions.

Just know; black is hot and little scratches and dings show up easier than metallics or whites. Just invest in a dual action polisher, some foam pads. Scratches and scuffs are easy to polish out with a DA polisher and it won’t leave swirl marks. Deeper defects are easily removed with 800-1000 grit wet sanding followed up by a good polishing.

If you want black, go for it!!!

Just placed the order. I can't wait. First moomba, coming from a mastercraft x2

oh and BTW, my X2 was all black,, it was not hard to take care of.. not at all. Water spots were no problem. Just kept the boat waxed and used Protec water spot remover and polisher and they were gone. Nothing on the water beats a black boat for looks.

There are 6 wake boats on my lake and everyone of them is mostly black.
