The all new Makai in action. Out of the box 4,000 lbs and tricks got thrown. This family has a dialed Max and looking to go Makai. With Moomba Launch and fully weighted it was about 30 seconds to plane. Does have the new 450 with the new gearing. Not bad for 6000’ above sea level in Utah.

Not bad for such a big boat and lots of ballast without a supercharged motor. Pretty stoked on the Makai wakeboarding, it might have to be spring before reporting on the surf. Customer bought the boat so we are waiting for another Makai to hit the shop.

Surf takes weight, but is SOLID. The wakemakers bag upgrade forthcoming is likely to be a must have.

I just have my sundeck walkthrough and swim platform left.

**PRO tip, get the 3M adhesive remover wheel**

Some pieces pulled right off without leaving any adhesive behind, the pieces that did, had a membrane over the adhesive that made acetone and mineral spirits useless.

p.s. the wheel WILL fling sticky adhesive boogers EVERYWHERE.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181003/3a39d45b7f16f68c4118c7168d164f18.jpg

Season in North Texas still holding...lake is in the 70s and dropping though :/

Finally found a buddy who is goofy so I could try setting up the starboard wave...lip is less clean, any Max owners know how to clean the lip? Is it all just in the tabs or does it look decent enough?

To clean up the lip you usually need to create more list. You can try to deploy the surf tabs further down but at some point you will loose power. Or, you can drain a little offside weight if moving people is not an option.

Honestly I do not know.. could have just failed from use over time.. My husband was surfing and said he hit a fish, which none of us believe. He said he felt a big thump (I think that is when the board broke) then when he got up the next time it was bowing and cracked. I had just taken my run and the board felt funny but I thought that was just me. There was no wood or anything in the water.

Totally forgot about my lead (thanks Dakota and Boone) all on the port side I use to offset the driver as my whole family is “normal” and usually it’s just me and the wife (recently she has been flaking and she would rather do home improvement crap, so hitting the buddies up to pull me, I have the whole of winter to do home improvement, right!?)

Will pull that lead out and swap that around as it’s easier and more advantageous than constantly filling and dumping ballast as we switch side to side when I take goody folks out.

When you’re surfing just leave it out on your seats or on your floor or something and you can just slide it back-and-forth. Usually with all the ballast full everywhere in the boat—transferring three or 400 pounds side to side is enough to clean it up. If it’s not quite enough make a person go over there too.

The more sophisticated plates on a Supra make this less of a project, but the more simple Moomba plates require a bit more list. The end result is pretty much the same, they just need a little lean to clean them up.

No laughing...

Picked up a 98 Mobius right before Labor Day for $3k. When I got it home it ran like crap, so I bought a carb rebuild kit for the Holley 4010. Got the boat on the water Sept 20 to tune the carb, but had to fly out for 8 days at Disney World the next morning. Got it on the Water Tuesday night. First time my kids have been on a ski/wakeboard boat. First time for my wife driving.

I hadn't been on a board in over 15 years. Possibly 17. Got up on the first try on a free POS board that came with the boat. Despite my instructions, my wife thinks "HIT IT" means to ease into the throttle and gently pull the skier out of the water. I think she was trying to kill me. I had forgotten what a face plant into the water at 25+ MPH felt like. I am 45 and not as young as I used to be. Got up on all 3 times before I had to pass it off to the kids cause it was getting dark and the lights don't work yet.

Got both my boys (6 & 7) in a tube we also got with the boat. Santa will bring them a wakeboard on Christmas.

They will both know how to board by the end of next summer! I expect to get better as well.

My wife and 7 YO are probably the only people left in the world who take pictures vertically. <rolleyes>, but I love them any way!

We are very fortunate to have it. $1300 for the year, 100 yards from our camper and 2 miles from the dock. There are a few advantages to living in South Dakota. The down side, we don’t make what you do in Nevada for the same job and we have already had our first snow of the year.

went out Thursday evening and the 'intermittent' problems with the boat escalated into being stranded and having to call in the Columbia River Marine Assistance boat to tow us back to the dock.

Boat wouldn't start after we did 2 wake sets and 1 surf set. It just cranked forever. Fuel pump decided to finally die. after draining ballast, it came back to life for about 20 seconds and then quit again. Took the tow boat 30 minutes to get to us and over an hour to tow us back (at 6mph). It was a long night. I was able to source a new low pressure pump locally and have a new high pressure pump on the way that should get here Thursday.

Stranded in the dark:

He wanted to tow me on his hip (rafted up) but I refused and had him tow me on the bow line. I don't care how good my Exile fenders are, 7 miles rafted up? No thanks.

Thanks bud. Thing is pretty intense. Been in a ton of new boats this 19 calendar year. The SE is really really good on so many levels.

It’s crazy how these Mfg are all pushing each other. Most of these new boats out are so good.

For me, the tech and the SE’s ability at its size to release water as clean as it does is mind boggling. 23 foot boats should do that easy, a 25 foot monster shouldn’t.

Ill preface this with the fact that I am a dealer for both MFG. Both are great boats that do some things better then the other.

In terms of wakeboard, the SE is light years ahead of the ZX5. Not even playing the same sport. Its amazing how clean the release is off the SE. The ZX5 isnt bad, just isnt where the SE is.

Surf wave wise is where it gets much tighter. Both are awesome. I think the ZX out of the box given its weight is better on the regular side by a decent margin, but cant hold a candle to the goof side of the SE. Here is where things get interesting. You add a modest 1k of lead to the SE and things get much tighter in terms of wave on the regular side. Its a coin flip at that point on that side of the boat. The goofy side is better on the SE with no extra weight and even more so with the extra LBs. The calling card for the SE is how smooth it releases water I dont know of another MFG aside from the new MB that is anywhere close.

Both drive incredible, with the SE being a little lighter and more nimble. Both handle big water extremely well.

Drivetrain is good with the SE and the new 450. The 550 is solid. Tige has the 2-1 locked in and that trans can push anything, the 450 SE this year will be as good in that department. I think Tige running the 1.7 reduction with the 575 is going to blow some minds and I think Supra would hit a home run offering this as an option. A sub 3k rpm surfboat weighted heavy at 6k feet is super impressive.

Both are beautiful inside. The SE has a great screen layout that is intuitive and easy to use. Autowake is obviously killer. The ZX is much deeper in terms of storage and functionality within that space. I love both towers. The Tige tower is a little more refined but the Supra tower is easier and more convenient to power up and down. The Bimini's are both good with the Tige being easier to use but smaller and the Se being harder to use but significantly bigger.

All in all both insane boats that are pushing the industry. We are proud to carry both.

The SE with extra weight is a crowd pleaser......

Putting those pilot skills to good use with some top notch drone shots there :)

Glad I held back on winterizing in DFW area despite our very Seattle like fall so far (lake is up 20ft with nearly all ramps out of commission and down on temp to 63 from 80 three weeks ago). Busted out the shorty and not one time did the teeth chatter. Crap photos compared to the above, too short a trip to bust out the go pro. First pic kind of shows the lovely parking lot under water. In the second promise I’m not peeing in that wetsuit. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181028/cb19d22881642a6ff9493f9f21df5e4d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181028/f3590c091b1719ba3775efc62986830c.jpg

After replacing both fuel pumps, water tested the boat. It still has the surging, loss of power, 3000 RPM cap and sometimes even dying stuff happening. Therefore despite smooth water, we didn't play in the water at all. Sad. But a nice few hours in the PNW between pissing bouts of rain we're used to.

RC, what is your surf rope hooked to and how? It appears to be off to the side. The surf rope is hooked to the main pylon then snaked around the tower tubing for the offset. Starts are easier out of the wash.

The towers on the '19s now have side pylons. [emoji58][emoji2959]

Yeesh, is that LBJ? Constant level for pretty much 60 years and then bam, 10 ft of extra water that the emergency flood gates couldn't control. Had a buddy with a Sanger that was sunk in his boathouse last week, water came up and over while boat remained attached to the lift inside. Has got to be insurance disasters out there right now, that looks like a great Supra and can only imagine how it got ripped in half!?

Reminds me that I need to check if my insurance includes the full price (don't recall what that clause is called).

It’s either LBJ or Marble Falls. I think those two were the worst hit. Up by the LBJ dam on Marble Falls the water was 35 ft above normal. Quite a bit for a lake on the only really fluctuates a foot or two.

The impressive part of that picture is that the boat is on the UPPER level of that dock... good lord, I feel for those guys. The amount of water that’s fallen in Texas over the last 2-3 months is absurd. (As I’m sitting here in another thunderstorm on Halloween) lol

Just out of curiosity, was there any warning on LBJ? Enough time for people to pull their boats out of the water?

Im sure there may have been some warning for the people that live there full time. A lot of people however are weekenders and just have their weekend homes there so they may not have been close by or in a position to make it down there. But honestly I am really not sure what the warning time was. I know about 10 years ago the Guadalupe river did this in central TX and it happened in a matter of hours. There was no real warning.
