2018 SL Subwoofer Install

Has anyone done any work on the sub located in the dog house or under the helm on a 2018 SL? Photos would be awesome.

I'm going to mount a sub, and would like to know what's behind the material I'm cutting and what the LED wiring connections look like.

I would have someone build a box around that to form fit and put a real sub in lol...
but if I had to guess I’d bet it’s just hollow ‘glass box molded in. If that’s where the factory woofer goes I doubt is open to anything below it.
Sorry, that’s probly not much help, but more an educated guess! Lol

If the factory option is the JL 12IB as pictured. Id hope the structure is open to the bilge in order to yield plenty of air space. Id also hope the baffle wall is at least .75" thick.

I do agree with brokepilot, any woofer weighing less then 25 lbs and handles less then 1000W is just a poser, mere childs play :p
