Well this was first on my list to do.

I had 8 adults and one kid on board (250# lead). We are wakeboard first and surf second group. I ran autowake and started at 55% amp (Ballast front-70 & rears-55-60) and we never looked back. The wake is massive!! A lot smother transition than the previous SE, similar to the SA. However it just had that extra kick that the SA doesn't. Having the G before this it WAS my favorite wake, the SE is everybit as good or better!!!! As far as the surf wave goes, I have always been under the impression the Supra wave is better than the G no questions asked.

I will say this, if you wake board with any weight, you will want to opt for the 550. If you just surf the new 450 should work great. I was turning on average 3900 RPM wakeboarding and 3400 surfing (100% full surfing) JUST MY OPINIONS AND OBSERVATIONS...…

Now moving to the inside. WOW the new vinyl is all they say and more. It has a super soft feel and the Chill Tech (CT) works like no other. It was sunny and 95* all day on the river and never had to put a towel down. The new dash and electronics seem to be very user friendly. After using them all day yesterday I feel I have a good handle on it.

the 450 with the 1.76 could be the bomb for everything to be honest. The initial reports back on the Makaii are nuts. 3400 ish surf RPM with big big weight. I love me the 575 and thats what mine has in it but the 450 is no joke with that reduction change.....

I don’t think so. It’s got a different top side from what I have heard. Intake and cam....what I heard anyway.

It runs very strong. Paired with the 1.76 it’s an order of magnitude beefier than my 440 1.5 was.

Planed a Makai pretty easily with 1700# lead, full gas, 3 guys, and 60% ballast in a 16x16.25 prop.

That really got my attention.

Also have a good pal running a ZX5 2:1 460 and says it’s plenty by a comfortable margin.

Could be a really nice setup for these bigger boats!

That being said, the 575 is an animal for sure!

The g23 surf wave (at least stock) isn't all that. I've surfed a 2015 plenty and it's okay, but my XLV puts out a cleaner surf wave that's taller (but not quite as long) as the G. And I'd say most of the newer Supras easily put out better waves than the G (again, I'm only riding a G with factory ballast).

Now, the G23 WAKEBOARD wake is another story. That wake is legendary. When I ride it I beg him to DRAIN ballast because I don't have my big boy pants on! It's insane.

But DatTexasBoy, your color scheme is amazeballs. I'm not a fan of chrome wheels, but the boat itself is stellar. That would look badass behind my wife's Sterling gray F150!!!

Your F150 would die trying to tow that big beast. My 2017 F250 Super Duty knows that my 18SA550 is back there. With boat and trailer you are at 7,200 lbs plus 450 lbs of gas, 600 lbs of lead, then your are at 8,250 lbs without any gear, full cooler of beer, etc. you can get to 9,000 lbs real quick.

haha. I hear ya. But it would STILL "LOOK" Badass!!! I'm 6250 all in boat and trailer with my XLV so yeah, and extra 1500 pounds would get noticed quick! But hey, I don't like the taste of beer, so look at all my weight savings!!! LOLOL

We were at 14,000 combined truck and trailer and payload for our last big trip. (carrying all of our camping gear + 45 extra gallons of fuel in gas cans + full tank on boat!)

I concur, towing an 18 SA with an 18 F150, you know it’s there. The 3.5EB can handle it, and the F150 is level, but it pushes a half ton around.

I disagree 110% with both of your comments above. I feel my boat behind my 2017 F250 with the 6.7 currently. I traded in my 2016 F150 with the eco-puke, the heavy duty tow package and 3.55 gears for my F250.

The boat drove the truck down the road and I would burn almost a full tank of gas going from Dallas to Broken Bow, OK, which is less than 200 miles and that was towing my 2017 SA.

No way I would trailer long distances with a F150 pulling 9000 lbs plus on a regular basis.

Too each his own I guess...give me 3/4 ton all day.

Ecopuke, clever. I just tow a lot more and a lot heavier than you so I guess it's all relative. My 6.7 loaded tips the scales at 27k. I don't worry about mileage lol! My lifetime is 8.4mpg.

Boost did great pulling a 9k 2 car hauler, 3/4 ton diesel is the only thing better, I've had them all. My puke had 3.73's and 35" toyo mt's too.

Killer boat. I’d tow it with my tahoe. I’m amazed at how well it pulls my SL. I think the newer trailers have a lot to do with it. I’m coming from a 2015 Diesel super duty and still think the Tahoe does great. 11 mpg loaded too...

I like the steps and hand rails on the trailer. I end up jumping onto the bow from my trailer on the boat ramp. I’ve never busted it big but it’s coming.

Maybe you're more sensitive where you're from???? I didn't even say I didn't like HIS wheels!!! I said "I'm not a fan of chrome wheels" (in general).

And ya know what, he was able to respond by telling me that he thought black wheels are played out. So I actually gained some insight into the thought process that went into his choice that I didn't completely understand. Seems like a win/win to me. I shared a general observation of mine and he shared the why behind it. BOOM: Knowledge through sharing. My curiosity about them was satisfied and heck, it gave DFTR a chubby because he is getting excited now for a chrome wheel comeback!

Stop being snowflakes! I really don't feel like it's a problem to put a tiny qualifier in an overall compliment.

larry_arizona
09-05-2018, 01:07 PM
I have no doubt 99.9% of people can take any compliment with a qualifier on this forum.

Just an observation that qualifiers are used here often.

Not a big deal, carry on.

Not sure if this is the thread, but here’s how I’m securing my Bimini arms. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180906/a30cb1327992a99f46de70bb2269b450.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180906/ff2ad36ddf74b8a0fe7d79478b78828a.jpg

Simple steps to save a lot of headache, I like it.

How quick and easy is that bimini to deploy/store?

2 min max, especially if you don't have to put the boot on.

Agree, Bimini deploy and stow is super easy, the cover is a challenge to reinstall until you get the method down. After 3x it’s easy.

Alright DTB, you've had the boat at least 2 full weekends, where the hell are the wake pics and video clips?

Been raining freaking every day almost. Here is all I have. These were taken from drivers seat. Not great shots.

You sir, have an incredible boat. I stopped at Rinkers on my way home, it was in the shop all torn apart. That thing is insanely massive on the trailer. That’s a ‘17SE next to it. And iPhone pics suck...

Wow look how much bigger the new 2019 SE is that's crazy that must be for all the sub floor ballast. I will say after having a 2016 SE it would be nice to get some extra room back.

I have storage to burn. I usually have crap stuck everywhere, but in this one I still have plenty left.

I really like it. Wake and wave are awesome. Had a few things that needed attention and there were 3 or 4 people in the area wanting to see it so I dropped it off. Picking it up late tomorrow.

Hopefully I’ll see you at the fall bash, which I can’t find a date for this year...

DTB, did you get that beastie back in the water? Would love to see some riding/surfing pics from your boat.
