What would guys recommend for a prop upgrade on the Max? I have almost 7000 lbs total ballast. Current prop is the OJ 14.25x 14.5. 25-28 mph is all we need. Thanks

I have no idea on the prop, but where are you located? Because I want to come surf on your boat! (for scientific purposes of course)

Ha Ha 7K of ballast and 28mph. Wowza.

What is that setup of bags and/or lead?

How you void your warranty in one post!
We are running a 15x11 with stock ballast and 5600' elevation. The Max has blown people away with stock ballast, what in the hell are you doing with 7K?

Now way you hit 28mph with. 11” pitch prop without revving the piss out of it

Not fully loaded. What I meant was I don’t need a big top speed.

Well I guess you cant complain with your post, LOL. Funny we thought it could never happen but we dipped the nose on an SA through the Max rollers. Funny they got me back and I dipped the Max with the SA rollers.

11 pitch for sure isn’t a speed prop, LOL. I’ve still yet to wake the Max, especially with this 15x11 prop to give riding numbers for everyone.

LOL you could probably snap necks with an 11” pitch prop, or at least make for some funny videos of watching people fall over or get a face full of beer, when you punch it.

My Craz with the OJ 945 (15x13) will max out at 39-40mph at almost redline, and no ballast and 900’ elevation. Can’t imagine what a 15x11 would get me. Maybe 32?

I would give Eric at OJ props a call to see what he recommends. He may even be able to make you a custom prop.

I have the acme 2315 with 5000lbs, call nettles they can recommend the perfect prop. I think my max speed is around 30-31mph, I can get on plane with full ballast.. :)

Cool, same prop but the cup is different, I'm at 3600rpm for surf speeds..

Would 12 make it higher rpm or lower?

I came from an oj 945, my rpms are lower.

Resurrecting this from the dead... but after reading the log story thinking I should get a spare prop to have handy and for karma sake.

Anybody else try the 2315? It being basically the 2419 with more cup it should have a better top end, but parrothd in his/her Craz stating only 30/31mph top speed is much lower than I anticipated. I am currently using the stock OJ 945 15/13 prop and it works pretty well. 5200lbs of ballast and surfing at 11.4mph and my rpms are at 3600. Top speed 37-38 if smooth. Also, with ~ 4000-4500lbs ballast I am still able to get on plane if necessary.

So...just get an OJ 945 as back up, right?! It does seem to work well for me.... but I like to dabble... and if the 2315 can provide the ability to plane with full ballast and I sacrifice only a couple MPH (say 34-36mph) then I would be interested in trying it out. My wife hates cruising fast... loud and when choppy not great for infants obviously, so often we cruise at 25-27mph at about 4000rpm.

If the 945 works well, maybe get the updated 950, it's a 15x13 with more cup from OJ

More cup would worsen low speed power in exchange for more top end correct?
