What type cd-changer can i add???

I want to add an kenwood cd-changer later.

Headunit is KDC-225MR. What changers can i use and where can you best install it? Maybe i can get some pictures from a factory installed changer.

What type of cd-changer is installed in the factory? Because i got an mail from kenwood the list with compatible cd-changers is large.
I assume that the cd-changer SC is installing is ultimate shockproof?

And is the stock radio the kenwood KDC-323MR?

Hey MVD I have used and sold many CD changers in my time.. One thing Ive found with every unit is it doesnt matter how "shock proof" it is they still skip. And if you put them in an environment where they bounce around eventually something will give in them... usually the laser that reads the CDs goes out of alignment.. (wont read the end of many CDs...etc)

You should really consider what Buttafewcoe is saying here.

Basically with the technology that is available now putting a CD changer in your boat is almost the equivlant to installing an 8 track player...

As much as I am a fan of real CD quality - I agree with the above statments. CD-changers are a thing of the past. Get your stuff converted to high-quality MP3 or AAC and burn it to a few CD's, or use an MP3 player / iPod and then enjoy all the music you can handle in one day without needing to figure out ahead of time which 6 discs are going in. Shock in a car is almost bearable, till the gromets and mounts get hard (about 3 years) and then it may as well be bolted to the frame. In a boat - shock is 10 times that in a car.

I'm an old audio guy, but sometimes you have to embrace the new technology.

Great reply's but what is the standard factory installed cd-changer for the KDC-232MR headunit?
Using the cd-changer when cruising or relaxing won't skip the player?

MVD, the best thing you can do is to connect an Ipod or mp3 player.
I've installed an Ipod with an optional kenwood KCA-ip500 connector and this works perfectly.
Even the remote works with it.

Ditto MP3 - Ipod or CD - I am moving to CD in the boat and Ipod in the car. I let XM in my Suburban expire this week. I was on a three year contract at $8/mo. Now they want $12/mo AND a late fee of $20 since they let it run an extra month - then turned it off and sent a bill. What idiot looks at the death of Blockbuster and still tries to bill like that.
