Do you all know what kind of batteries go into new Supra boats?

From looking at the owners manual, it makes me believe they're plain Jane Lead Acids...

I'd like to see Deka AGM deep cycle batteries. At least, maintenance free lead acid sealed batteries would be nice.

At one time it was whatever the dealer put in them when they arrived.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I should check with my dealer before they go. That is, if they’re responsible for picking them.

I agree and recall that being a dealer prep item.
Not sure if that changed.

With the stereos we’re putting in these things nowadays, XS would be a great option

Lead Acid,

I don't see dealers going to AGM style batteries due to the cost. I mean at my cost the 2 6V gold cart batteries in my boat were 300 each. Then the Optima red top was another 280.

Your better having them put in cheap and you buy them new, in the long run you save more money, expect a dealer to have 70-100+% up-charge on these types of items.

So SC does not ship boats with batteries? It’s dealer choice on batteries selected for install?

That is interesting.

That said, I have had mixed results with AGM batteries. Typically had better longevity on lead acid in automotive applications.

Have a 2002 GMC truck with 242k miles and just installed the 3rd battery. OEM lead acid lasted 7 years and second battery was a interstate lead acid that lasted 9 years.

Not that familiar on deep cycle Marine applications batteries.

Not at all uncommon, quite a few boat manufactures practice this. They credit the dealers the cost of the batteries. The theory is that the boat gets delivered to the buyer with a fresher battery.
