That face you make when a nat goes in the ear while surfing. As if the tubers and jet skis were not distracting enough.

Spent Saturday cleaning the dust off and hung out in a cove for a couple hours. Changed the oil, put the FatSacs in and got her ready to surf next weekend.

Finally got her wet, ran fine, water wasn't bad at 62. Only problem, forgot all tow ropes. Fortunately a friend was on the water in his boat and he let us use one. 27129

Getting people to go out with us for a 9am launch was like pulling teeth. We ultimately launched and picked up a buddy at his floating home. But we got this as the result:

https://i.imgur.com/TDGelx8.jpg

All ours for slalom, wakeboard, surf, and foil.

Obviously having a better day than this guy:

Was pretty irritated to find mud wasp nests in 6 different screw holes of my REV410s. Got home and performed some shop-vac/coat-hanger abortions. Stupid wasps.

My friend got a pretty cool jump sequence using burst mode on his Iphone.

Started June out on Lake Travis. Rented a condo there with some friends for the weekend. Cody bought a dome for a go pro but it turns out to not fit the newer ones so I used it with mine. Don’t have the pictures off of his from the weekend.

Absolutely 0 wakeboarding due to awful water conditions. We did some surfing but it mostly partying lol.

A couple more. It turned out to be a fairly expensive weekend.

Someone kicked the volume knob off of the transom stereo remote. When we got back to the condo Friday evening I had two flat tires, luckily they were repairable. One of the guests did not strap the surf board on the bimini properly and it flew off under way hitting him in the head making a night dent and crack in the bottom of the board.

Got a few things going on here. Painted my Exiles to match the boat, installed Roswell Triton racks. Custom made a spacer to be able to run the factory swivel racks on the upper mounts. Picked up a Fly High rope extender to help keep the rope out of the racks and tower, works pretty well with the forward towers like the OZ and V2. Put in a Cipa 180 mirror with the Cipa mount. I also took the folding light off and installed a flush mount removable anchor light that extends up above the bimini and speakers.

Got the custom Bushman one-of-a-kind board for my daughter. This thing is so sweet! I'm jealous.

I shall dub it the Joystick (before anyone gets any weird ideas, my sister's name is Joy - as is my daughter's middle name - and Jeff Bushman is her boyfriend. So it fits).

Many, many thanks to Nick at Chaos Surf Co for his help getting the specs right for it.

Does anyone know why wakesurf boards don't have a provision for a leash? I didn't give it any thought til I saw Jeff put a leash grommet on my daughter's board. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180608/6d772c5341cb6c570236668541858be6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180608/2e1ad7b5908b110360025b1ee0f7568e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180608/47e4c6023dc314a4ed6b35df70eb1d67.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180608/16380bb6ecbf36efdfb49f5c888b1c49.jpg

When the SE is carrying 5110# at full tilt, all it takes is 50/50/50% fill to make a perfect small adult/kid wave. Boat purrs along and sips fuel, and anybody under 140# can surf their face off as far back as makes sense to them. To be 100# again would be fun—for a day or two anyway.

The big boy wave takes all she has, but it’s quite the riot. This is one good-ass boat.

Need some more pictures of the Liquid Force Bimini Bag...it is hard to find video's or reviews of it online.

How does it work, how do you like it?

It’s basically a double board bag (2 pockets with reflective material on top) that folds in the middle and has an adjustable strap on each corner to attach it to the bimini frame. It also has straps on top of each pocket to attach another board (for a total of 4 boards).

I found it when searching for premade surf pockets to add to the Max’s bimini since they aren’t a factory option. It works really well for the price, it’s nice to be able to fold it up and put all your boards in the back of the truck at the end of the day.

Only 2 issues I’ve noticed: there is a non adjustable front strap for the boards that go on top of the pockets. At cruising speed this would start “buzzing” from flapping/vibrating against the board, but only does it depending on the board combo in the pocket vs on top of pocket and a certain speeds.

The other issue is that the fins on my doomswell make it a little thick to go in the surf pocket to keep it out of the sun. I can force it, but the fabric material with a drawstring is starting to tear a bit.

I’ll update with some pics in a day or two.

No because this front strap is fixed, no buckle or adjuster. There are 2 adjustable board straps further back on the bag.

The hammerhead is awesome but so slick! I just need more time on it.
I only get 1 session each time out with all the kids wanting to raft and swim.
Can't wait for more time!

Pretty dang nice wave for a 2007 am I right? :)

I’ve got a two inch fin for it I’d sale

The job of the HH is to throw you off. You will get used to it and you will enjoy it. Keeping those edges in rather than totally flat really helps. Try some large sweeping turns to begin with and you will get the hang of it. Think of it as a sports car rather than a cruiser. It likes the action.
Yes we can get some nice waves out of these older boats!

We had a great weekend on the water. 9am starts both Sat and Sun got us rockstar parking at the boat launch. Sat we played for the morning, then met up with friends in their 26' cabin cruiser for some partying. It was a great combo with my boat providing the music.

The wife has been sidelined with an eblow injury but was able to return to surfing this weekend and she's beyond stoked.
https://i.imgur.com/YV2WBBU.jpg

It's still wetsuit weather in the PNW, with water temps in the low 60s.
https://i.imgur.com/34UehD9.jpg

It was a treat to see water like this right in front of the launch on Sunday. Nice enough that I pulled out the slalom to take a run without even having to motor to our 'play spot'.
https://i.imgur.com/izsNeZS.jpg

Definitely used our rack capacity this weekend. at one point, we had 10 different boards on the boat.
https://i.imgur.com/qY09I3i.jpg

at the end of both Sat and Sun, as we started to motor back to the launch, there were dark storm clouds in the distance. we raced back to the launch Saturday and were getting the truck just as the rain started. It went from blue sky and 80+ degrees to dark and strormy quick. (Thunderstorms are not something we get in the PNW much in the summer). Luckily we had all the gear stowed before we motored back so we loaded up and jumped in the truck and drove home in the rain (wipedown happened under the carport at home).

Sunday another surprise thunderstorm was approaching. Bad enough that we saw people at our launch that motored west from a different launch where they were getting hammered.

There were easily 25 to 30 boats and waverunners circling the boat ramp when we pulled up sunday with big swells and whitecaps everywhere. The wife was able to nose me up and I jumped off and got the truck and dunked the trailer. She was able to pick me back up at the dock, but it was way too crazy to get her back off the boat. (Yes, I did the truck and boat because in those conditions I'm not gonna put her in those situations when it's chaotic.). I drove the boat perfectly onto the trailer and climbed from the bow into the bed of the truck and drove us safely onto land. Crazy endings to two great days.

I would think it would be considered a product defect at minimum. It's scary to think what could happen if my wife were not in the boat at the time and we spent an extended amount of time in the water. If the purpose of the suction cup is to mount it to the windshield then I would think they would want to know that this can happen. They should probably change the suction cup to a non-translucent material as well and recall the remaining ones to prevent this from happening again in the future. It was a HO flag and not a cheap knock off.

The sun is bad up here. Saturday I killed off part of my lawn when I washed my clear computer chair mat on the grass. It was on the lawn for five minutes.

You know the flag is only used for use when towing people in Washington state? People ignore the flag when floating around as they tend to be left in the up position a lot.

Water skiing safety—Requirements.
(2) No vessel operator may tow or attempt to tow a water skier on any waters of Washington state unless such craft shall be occupied by at least an operator and an observer. The observer shall continuously observe the person or persons being towed and shall display a flag immediately after the towed person or persons fall into the water, and during the time preparatory to skiing while the person or persons are still in the water.

Thanks for the info -
We normally don't put a flag on the windshield since we never had a suction cup before. We used to just throw the flag into a wakeboard binding on the rack for added visibility. The lake we go to gets a lot of boat and seadoo traffic and there are some bad drivers out there.

Either way I think it is a safety concern for the suction cup causing burning if the intent is to mount it to the windshield.

Wow that's crazy! It would be hard to get compensation most likely but there are probably no warnings about it on the package. Where else would you put it other than the glass?
Scuff up the outside part with some 220 grit sand paper and problem solved, except for your vinyl.

No lake pics this weekend, dunno if there’s any fishermen on here. But me linz and my brother went to matagorda over the weekend for a long overdue (by 2.5 years) fishing trip lol. The rain earlier in the week kinda screwed us, live shrimp were hard to come by and there was a lot of fresh water in the bays, and the wind was nuts. Steady 25kts.
I got the only keeper, a 15” black drum (we tossed back for good karma), my brother caught a bunch of almost keeper reds, and Linz caught all the hard heads! Lol

I was shocked at the size and push of these waves with half water ballast (wife) and zero water ballast (daughter).

The instructor was saying that the Mondo has the best wave of the Moombas - he's had a Mondo, LSV, Craz, and Mojo for his school, and the 2014 Mondo is the only one of those he still has. I'm not sure I believe that, but I am really happy with the wave this thing makes. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180626/5009e69d0932560a2d062252ff98c2ab.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180626/e688d6758188f5535417dfb8b5b04192.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180626/01142167752db7cd04df26abacf36c96.jpg

Meh.. Depends on ability, once you get bored of going up and down the wave and progress to tricks you'll change your mind. Hitting your head 10 times wakesurfing is equal to one wakeboard edge head smack. My neck and top of my head take the brunt of falls.

I am always trying to get air and do spins, so I’m not just plodding along trying to stay on the wave. Still even taking a board to the head and getting bruised legs Friday m fin hits doesn’t compare to catching an edge while throwing a tantrum or a back roll. Not even close!!

Not saying they are 1 for 1. Wake surfing wipeouts are smaller impacts and you think oh that wasnt so bad and repeat it 10 times all those mini concussions add up to the same as a big one.

Grab me a Raptor as long as you are there, thanks!

From what I heard in the other posts, better grab a few spare alternators! And maybe a starter!

None of that is installed on these motors at the engine plant. Those engine accessories are installed by Indmar at their facility.

I bet the starter from ford works better than indmars. It can probably get wet and still work lol.

That's a beautiful LSV, congrats. Then again I am a little bias towards the LSV. :)

Nope, never wakeboarding again. The last time I crashed I felt every bone in my spine sperate and then smacked the back of my head on the water.. Nope.. Nope.. Lol

I’m 55. The only water sport I wear a helmet for is wakeboarding. I’ve had too many back edge catches with concussion grade hits. I do watch my face on all wipeouts- kneeboarding, slalom, surf... we’ve had some black eyes too.

Whats your set up to get this wave? I have a 2006 LSV with the same ballast weight as you. The top of my wave is not nice and clean like yours. I just upgraded the bags, pumps and prop so I'm in the dialling in the wave period.

Done a little night surfing last night. The African dust had it a little dimmer than I was hoping for.

Logged about 12 hours driving this weekend at a local event named Surf Fest. All our local shops brought the best of the best and it was an all out demo weekend. The customers are asked to fill out a survey on every boat then is tallied up to give an overall rating. The MAX was up against some heavy hitters, I promise we held our own with a very positive response from a lot of surfers. I can’t wait to see where we ranked!

Demo day with a Max and Helix at White Lake Marine. With the vast size difference, tandem trailer, and engine tray (one of wife’s favorite features) I think we will end up in a Max for only 4-5k more. White Lake isn’t very deep and the wave was still tremendous for. Oth surfing and wake boarding.

David and crew at White Lake are awesome. Bought our OBV at White Lake in 2012 and will definitely go back for the next one!
