I suggest posting up some more info on the boat itself, year/model, etc. Also, did this just start happening out of the blue? Do any recent mods to the boat? Anyone else using the boat? Anyone under the steering wheel or did you store something large under the steering wheel? (Stuff can snag on the wires under there, maybe pull something loose.)

Assuming, no to all of those questions, I believe you will need to do some work with a multi-meter to track down where the wiring is causing issues. Any experience with troubleshooting DC circuits?

2007 Moomba Mobius LSV

I’m the only operator. It happened immediately after I upgraded my Perfect Pass with the Star Gazer GPS system (still running servo for throttle so no DBW). It was a simple plug and play, tilts separate from the control panel, and it works great. While under the dash (damn it’s tight down there) I must’ve bumped something. It’s gotta be a grounding issue I’m thinking. Both my batteries are new and at 12.8v. We’ll see. Thanks.

You had to of pulled something loose or forgot a connection.

Absolutely a loose ground wire. The gauges all are grounded at the same junction block, gauges work opposite how you think, Ground is pegged MAX and then the Power Signal a small nominal Voltage actually makes them read correctly.

Just trace the wires from each harness back. You will find something loose.

Other option Unplug the PP and see if the problem is there still,

If it is then find the loose connection.

If the problem Goes away its the PP causing a short

Yes on the grounding issue, that is was it was. With the mass of wires under the dash it took four hours to get to and isolate its location. Turned out to be a bad splice that was causing the grounding problem. I suppose after twelve years and 380 hours that can happen. Rewired the splice and everything is good to go! Thank you all for your help.
