Finally pulled the trigger on a new Acme 1615 prop, should be here today. At 14 1/2" diameter, it won't fit without hitting the trailer - no problem, needed to put some TLC on the bunks anyways. My boat has had a previous life of being in less than fresh water 100% of it's life and while steps were taken to adapt to that (closed cooling upgrade, galvanized trailer), several items have not fared a rust free life - the bunk hardware to highlight as one example. It really is amazing the use of cheap hardware translates to it rusting, then migrating to the steel galvanized supports of the trailer - supports that probably would not have rusted if the hardware held up. Moral? Don't cut corners!

New prop comes today via UPS, any suggestions removing the old prop? 2 jaw puller? Fabricate prop puller from C-Clamp? I assume it will be on there pretty good, appears to be original prop.

Sorry for the dark pictures, was burning the midnight oil last night. Method of lifting and look at all that prop clearance!!!

I didn't really want to redo the bunks and carpet since the carpet was in good shape. The old mounting holes were toast though so I offset my spacers forward 2" which helped move the bunks rearward on the trailer 2" and helps with the interference with the auxiliary bunks at the bow.

I'd recommend buying an acme puller. I made a puller from a c-clamp, the metal isn't strong enough and it just bent the clamp. If that's the original prop, it'll be even tougher to get off. You could probably reinforce the spine of the clamp, but it's worth the money for the real deal.

Is the 14.5 going to clear the hull?

Is the 14.5 going to clear the hull?Yes, there is a ton of room above the prop.

Nicely done on the trailer! That’s almost exactly what I did under our old ‘06. But I was using the extra blocks under the bunks to lift the boat. We also redid the bunks and carpet though. Not super fun, but not hard either. Good thing my wife helped. I can’t wrap a present to save my life so a 2x4 didn’t stand a chance! Lol

Wow. You went all out, I just shim the rear. :) Next time put the prop on, it'll still fit, but put the trailer deeper in the water so it floats off. Then shim the rear bunk while the boat is off.

I thought about that but I didn't want to haul all my tools to the lake and I knew I would have difficulties with the rust. I also painted the bunk risers to try to slow the rust while the bunks were off - couldn't do that if the trailer had just been dunked.
