View Full Version : Radio is not playing MP3 CD's

It doesn't matter how I burn CD's with MP3 Songs, the Radio in my 06 LSV is not playing them. Tried different formats and folderstructures. The Radio shows one Track but no sound.
The manual says the Radio should play it!

Has anyone some idea what could it be?

Unfordently not. I give it up, because it doesn't matter how I burn CD's - over the filesystem from Windows, Mediaplayer, Nero, whatever it wont work. :(

Are you sure it is the correct MP3 radio?

Can you check the CD in another CD player or get a CD from a friend?

Tanks mate. I tried by my friend to without success. He has a 06 XLV and the same 06 player.

You just see Track one on display without tone and if you press foreward it start with track one again...

What program are you using to create the CD ?

first - NO FOLDERS ! - mp3 players have no clue how to use a folder - files only. Using the basic XP create cd is the easiest actually as said above. Just drage MP3 files to the disk in My Computer and then right click on the disk icon when ready and do a create cd. Make sure to NOT create a music cd - this is a data cd (also stated above)

ok so do you have access to another mp3 player that will platy the cd that you could test it on... if not take the cd down to your local best buy or circuit city and tell them you want to demo some of the car decks.. if it works its the Deck if not...its the CD

Id try that seems like you are pretty much running in circles at this point

I tried on my CD Player at home that can play MP3 CD's, and it works very well, not a problem, even when I creat Music CDs or Folders. It is a Philips one

I have a 06 outback v and my boat has never played a mp3 for me either
and that sucks cause that format holds so many files to a disk..i just lived with it this summer, but will try to make headwind with the dealer, to solve the problem, they are very helpfull

your not that is a very good point...i guess we kind of take advantage of thinking it would be since every radio now made is mp3 capable.. i will have to double check on it...

Butta - a VERY good quesition - but I have the 06 lsv as well and my Kenwood KDC-225M is capable of playing MP3's.

WakeBrother - Read page 6 of the manual for very detailed info about the limitations and specifics you must meet for it to work. Too many to post here.

I have used 2 different programs to create the CD's but no luck. Has anyone been able to play mp3 cds in their boats?
