Super nice, congtats. Ever miss the Sunbird?

All the Time, had a tower on a outboard boat, could only take for friend or it wouldn't get on plane. It was always fun at the boat launch as it was 50/50 if we could get it started. That is how I learned that boating people are some of the friendliest most helpful people out there.

Loved my Sunbird. It had the best seating arrangement of any 17 ft. bowrider. But the wakeboard wake was pretty poor.

Where would I find some of those threads? Been following the forum for a few months, but I don’t remember any so far.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Use the search tab for cleaning and get all kinds of suggestions. I favor Boat Bling cleaning products since the stuff really works inside and out. www.boatbling.net and read up a little. Helps I also get it for a discount at www.marine-products.com . Discount code is usually in my signature but. It sure when using this tap app.

Shock, I see you got the over tower cover. Have you found a way to secure the Bimini in the folded position without using the cover. I was thinking bungee chords may work.

larry_arizona

The Bimini comes with its own cover that secures it.

I just use a nylon strap with a plastic clip from one of the kids old portable DVD players that secured it to the head rest, definitely saves a few mins with out having to putting the binimi cover back on.

The dealer ripped my cover so I was lent a tower up cover and you can fold the tower and put the cover over it when driving, the only things that sticks out is the wake board racks. Next time I will get the tower up cover.

Interesting, so you are saying you can use the "tower up" cover while the tower is in fact folded down?

shockthis
07-12-2018, 11:13 AM
Yup, I towed it back from the dealer 150 miles two days ago, the wakeboard racks do stick out FYI

dusty2221
07-12-2018, 11:15 AM
But the opposite will not work for towing, you can not use the tower down cover with the tower left up?

larry_arizona

Tower down cover FTW. Not a fan of towing with tower up ever.

Correct, you cannot tow with the cover up with the tower down cover

Ryann
07-12-2018, 12:38 PM
I just played around with the cover some more. I have the tower up cover (meaning the cover is supposed to go under the tower).

I am confident I can tow with the tower up or down with this cover. It fits and secures.

larry_arizona

Is there an advantage to towing tower up?

I was more wondering about usability of the "tower up" because there are alot of times we beach camp, but cover at night. It would be nice to leave the tower up and still be able to cover so we can hang vest etc from the racks, but on the same note use the "tower up" cover to tow the boat home with the tower down.

It's 2 separate covers if I'm not mistaking, tower up cover will not work with tower down. I have seen customers order both covers.

If you have the ability to leave the tower up, you can leave the Bimini up and still put the cover on.

When I leave the boat on the dock overnight, I’ll put the cover on. Saves a lot of time not having to close the Bimini and lower the tower.

Being able to avoid ordering an additional cover would be very nice if the cover designed for the tower up still allows for the tower to in fact be down and covered.

Any pic, Shockthis? keen to know as I may have to change my order(tower down cover atm)

Ryann
07-28-2018, 08:36 AM
To set things straight, the tower up cover will work with the tower down. I store in dry rack storage, and it doesn’t fit unless I fold the tower down. Cover goes over and secures as normal. When I leave it at the dock, the tower stays up, and the cover goes on.

I will trailer both tower up and down. I hate cleaning bugs off the tower, so I tow with tower down.

All 100% and Autowake on... If i remember front stayed full since I had the pitch at like 7.5 to keep the bow down and 100% port side and 94% with me driving starboard. Wake was KICKING with just stock weight.

22.8 mph for the speed and 70' line, usually ride 75' but not riding for awhile I brought it in.
