Not sure why people use the ground for trash cans.
Noticed the same thing on the TV news this AM.
Is there a shortage of them? City does not empty them during the event?

Come on people . . .

If I never get to New Orleans again it will be fine with me. Don't need to see huge rats roaming the streets near expensive restaurants ever again.

I was there on business and it is terrible. First and last time. Makes me appreciate home even more.

The trash on the ground is the least of your concerns!!

There is a reason the city washes the French Quarter streets every morning, it's cause in the evenings the streets get plastered with ralph and piss. I went a few years back during St. Paddy's Day and we were crammed like sardines, everything was all good till I felt a wet sprinkle on my leg. I looked down, realized I was getting street splash back and nearly lost it. My crew had to hold me back (mounted patrol was nearby) from socking the wasted reveler that was relieving himself in the middle of bourbon street.

If you're in your 20s and not yet adulting, it can be fun...once you lose your taste for crippling hangovers (Pat O'Briens hurricanes = sugar + cheap booze) you quickly realize it's incredibly grody.

Ha Ha. I agree. Have not been to Mardis Gras, but visited several other times and it reminded me of college 101 with more filth and piss.
