First off, thank you Skier’s Choice for making such a nice boat at an affordable price point. Thanks to Germaine Marine in Mesa, AZ for getting a nice deal together. I can’t wait to get this boat onto Lake Mead and Lake Powell.
I’ll post more pics later but here she is....

I can't wait to hear what you think of the surf wave and since I know you---I REALLY hope that you're already planning on getting 600s for under both the side seats like they did for the Polar Bear! I can't wait to hear what you do to it to really slam it and what kinda wave you can get!!!

Nice OEM swim platform! Whatcha gonna do with the custom? I bet another Moomba owner might be down to snag it from ya. (I don't need it obviously).
That said, what other mods did you strip off the XLV before you traded it in? I have to imagine you still have some lead laying around, right?

We boat at Mead most of the time but hope to get to Powell once or twice this coming summer.
Where is the best place to stay and launch if not doing a houseboat?

I really need to get some interior pics.
I am waiting for the registration to take the boat to the lake. I don’t want to get a ticket on my maiden voyage. I can’t wait to play with the boat and wave. I will report back.
The boat is pretty well quirked. 400 motor, G6 ballast, AutoFlow, Autowake, Bimini, swivel board racks, heater, sub and amp, bow filler cushion, wake prop, and dual batteries w charger.
I took the lead out of the XLV and I’ll be adding that as I figure out how to setup this boat. Will also be looking into ballast bag upgrades.
I transferred my Exile amp and 2 XM9s. Will be adding an FAE.

I have the 1 inch platform in the back yard but it would likely be cheaper to just buy the HDPE from Amazon and some Hydroturf. I bet it would be fairly costly to ship.
I pulled all the lead (my back still hurts), Exile XM9s, Exile Harpoon, FAE, batter charger, extra Jabsco pump and line. My garage looks like a boat chop shop.

Where is the best place to stay and launch if not doing a houseboat?
Coming from CA you will most likely go for the AZ side of the lake which will be Wahweap or Antelope Point Marina. Waheap has a hotel pretty close to the water and you will pay dearly and will have to book WAY in advance. Antelope Point Marina I feel has better amenities with cart service and the floating restaurant and store. Wahweap might be the best also if you plan to camp on the lake since it's forgiving shores and many camping places. Leaving APM you will have to drive a distance to get to suitable shore camping. Navajo is close to APM and epic sand camping but you bet your ass it's BUSY and will be crowded mid summer. Powell really offers endless adventures no matter where you go on the lake, there's always a place to make home for the night. You can also rent hotels in Page, AZ and travel 10 minutes to the lake everyday. Again very pricey and you will need to book in advance.

Recharge as needed. They are mounted by a magnetic strip so they just pull off when you need to charge. The magnetic strip is double sided taped to the boat and the light has a metal mounting section.

Interested in the wakeboard wake also and getting to plane, being you're at 1200' I still wonder if the MAX will plane out. Any chance you have a video of float to speed?
Boonejeepin

I have not spent enough time to give the surf wave a full and fair comparison. I was running only the factory ballast plus a little lead. This produces a good clean wave with the surf tabs. Comparing stock XLV to stock Max is not even fair. The Max’s stock wave is in a different league. But I was not running anywhere close to stock in the XLV for many years and was able to get a good strong, long wave but it was never 100% consistent and needed about 4500lbs of ballast and lead to come alive.
I’ll be adding additional ballast bags this weekend and I’ll report back. Should have about 5400 lbs of lead and ballast bags to play around with.

A video would be awesome fully weighted, I'm thinking here in UT we will need 700 + lbs in the nose to help plane and shape a good wake. Spring can't come fast enough.

Actually just a picture of the wake when it's fully weighted is my biggest interest. Being based off the Helix I'm sure it's fantastic, IMO the Helix has the best stock wakeboard wake out of the lineup.

I had really good luck with 4500 and a home made suckgate in the XLV. I think you tend to have a larger crew and would guess that your wave is much better with 5-8 people in the boat compared to 2. I was always disappointed when I decided to not fill the last 650lb (would not fill entirely) bag that I would place on top of the playpen 1180 bag.

I've never tried that. hmmm...
I shouldn't have sold that 650 after I got the 1180!
That said, I do run 400 under the surf side seat and another ~250 under the surfside bow seat.
