I've been in the market to find a fender that will be a little nicer on the gel since the standard fenders seem to scratch a bit. Also looking for saving some space when not in use. I ended up picking up some inflatable Ronix Happy Hour Boat Bumpers. Not a bad buy at $30 and they do come with the tie line already attached. I haven't used these myself but have seen others have them and worked really well. Looks like 2 sizes depending how much fender you want 8x18 ($29) & 10x24 ($39). I don't do a lot of chain tying up so I went with the standard 8x18 size. Link below you can check them out and also get a discount using code DFTR through Marine Products (http://www.marine-products.com/). I ordered and it took 4 days to ship to my front door. Inflated in 3 good breaths and under 30 seconds, deflated just under 30 and ready for storage.

That solution has been out for at least 5 years for less money. Just sayin'. Many of us have been using such a product for years. :-P

But then again, Marine Products probably doesn't sell the product that me and many others are using.

Oh no it's my fault for not looking eariler, I've been meaning to just not on the top of the list. Finally dug into it and working with MP they added the RONIX fenders to the site so I could order them. I'm sure a ton of different/cheaper products out there but I do push to support a boat shop any way I can.
If you have products that you want me to see if they're a dealer for let me know and I can see if they can get them on the site.

Here is what I use and they work awesome. They come in pretty much every color under the sun to match your boat if your into that sort of thing like me. Think Exile buoy ball, but less expensive.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BP5VU9E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use these Sea Clamps with it and they hold the buoy at just the right height.

It's all good man. I just worry when you start to sound more like a MP salesman disguised as an enthusiast! haha. it's a slippery slope man. Keep that independence! haha.

If MP sells Exile, then they'd have access to the buoy balls. $20 each. Round. Softer rubber than the hippity hops. I can guarantee you I'd have gelcoat damage if I tried to use normal fenders.

But if someone is looking for a different form factor (not round) and maybe is a diehard wetsounds fan that wouldn't use the competition, then the Ronix would be perfect. I'm certainly a fan of competition and variety in the marketplace.

Not sure where I first looked at the Exile balls but I'm sure I seen $49 so jumped right to the RONIX ones. Just searched again and did find them for $20 which isn't bad at all. I will have to see if MP is a dealer for them... Thanks for the info.

If you saw $49 it could have only been a sale for a 3 pack. The been $20ea MSRP for years.

I have both Exile and the Hedstrom Hopper balls I posted above and they are every bit as soft as the Exile balls.

Another activity for the kids while boating :) RONIX ones will just turn into a fender fight with somebody hurt,LOL.

I’ve used the basic round slalom ski balls and they work fantastic for a decent price. No scuffing like the traditional ones either.

There's just balls hanging EVERYWHERE on this thread, LOL. Great looking pictures guys. Should I be this stoked for spring and winter hasn't even started in Utah?

I have red balls similar to the amazon hip hop thing posted earlier.

At least no one has chimed in saying they like their blue balls.

I can't stay away from not saying Boat Bling! Actually just reminded me it's time to put in the gallon orders and be ready for the spring.

Love my Exile Buoy Balls but a pain to store when all the lockers are full with ballast! Usually tie them to tower when surfing and have certainly made lots of jokes about my big balls flapping around..

For those that use do you all deflate and reinflate or keep them inflated? If deflate how do you reinflate.

i keep mine deflated because we really don't use them a lot. To reinflate i just put my lips over the hole and blow ( insert joke here ) and then put the plug in.

I keep them deflated. I have a 12v pump that use whenever we need them, but I seldom use them. We only use them when we tie up to another boat- not often at all

Thanks. Just posted on here and went to lunch near office where there are food trucks. Ironically there was truck with meatballs and this was on the back and had to laugh... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171103/86a48c072a12d1c3426db7cba39f7245.jpg

If I do, I need a raise!
I just give feedback on products I enjoy. Send me a PSC and I'll be happy to spread the word. ;-P

We pretty much always use the Coleman 12v pump. Well, except for this one time when we had a couple drunk newbie girls on the boat. Then we made them blow them up and only took out the pump to top them off after they'd put in all the work. hahaha.

http://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/77503444-f461-4c57-960b-460c1bd8e192_1.298dc205227c14a76b590db381f840fc.jp eg?odnHeight=450&odnWidth=450&odnBg=FFFFFF

I used to strap them to the tower on my Supra.

But anymore we only use them when we're camping with a boat slip, or when we park the boat at a restaurant in town with a dock, or when we actually dock the boat at the boat launch. When camping with our own slip, we leave the balls tied to the slip. When we use the buoy balls for an in town stop, we inflate/deflate (only happens occasionally). We hardly ever use them at the boat launch. always go to/from the trailer with crew on board. And nosing up to pickup/dropoff the truck driver means no buoys necessary. We don't tie up that much, so inflate/deflate there.

The deflated balls and the bungee docklines live in the small rear corner underseat storage.

Sounds pretty cruel, LMAO! I guess a plus for the RONIX fenders is no pump needed, crazy easy to inflate but of course not as much protection as the balls.

Looks like Exile is running a good Black Friday deal that's live Saturday the 18th. Use Code BFDEAL3 to get 3 bouy balls for $38. Pretty legit deal.
