Does anyone have any experience replacing or repairing this problem? I think there is enough steel but it's going to be close. I would like to replace but not even sure what the part is called. It's the plate at the bottom of the boat that's connected to the ski pylon. Any tips on repair or replacement? I can't be the only owner with this problem. (See pic attached)

Thanks in advance.

Mine had corrosion not quite that bad when the boat was four years old. I brushed the loose stuff, treated the metal, primed it and painted it. It has stayed in good shape. I didn't want to ever replace it.

On my 99 outback I wire brushed it then coated it with roofing tar

I'm going to wire brush it, clean it with Evapo-rust, prime with Rust Oleum primer for rusty surfaces, and then paint. (will include pics) Also did some reading around "anodes" sounds like if I can get some magnesium blocks in my hull it will divert the rust to those blocks. Navy uses this method as well (but zinc for salt water)

Anyone with an opinion or experience with the efficacy of "anodes"?
