Hi! We are considering two different Moomba boats, one is a 2012 Moomba mojo 2.5, however it isn't in the Moomba archive of boats and I can only find one review of it on line. Am I missing something? Does this boat actually exist? The photo's the dealer took don't gel with the photo's on the review particularly around the surf platform? Help?

The other boat is a 2013 Mobius lsv, all seems good with it...

Looking for information.... appreciated.

2.5 does exist. It's the pre-2014 version before they added the Raptor engine and an additional 0.5' to the hull.

I have a 2013 mojo 2.5 and love it, but I came into it from a 20 year old 19' runabout.

Our mojo surfs very well after adding a bunch of additional ballast and surf tabs. Very high freeboard.

I don't have any prior v-drive experience so I can't help you compare/contrast with the LSV.

Both are great boats. It really depends on the condition of the boat and the activities for which you will use it. If you like to ski, lean toward the LSV. It can do it all. If you are going to be mostly surfing with some wakeboarding and have lots of friends, then the Mojo 2.5 is probably a better choice. Also think about storage. Storage in the boat-- more on the Mojo. Garage space-- Mojo is a bit bigger. Whatever you choose, post up some pics and join the fun on here.

I've owned the LSV and currently the 13 Mojo 2.5

I prefer the Mojo for so many reasons it's hard to list them

The only reason other then price and condition to not get the Mojo is storage space for the boat its self.

I love my Mojo way more then I did my LSV.

This is our 5th summer with it, the LSV only lasted 4. No intentions on selling my Mojo

Just to clarify, doesn't the current 23' Mojo hull begin with 2015 models? I think 2014 would still be the 2.5 (22.5') Mojo.

Yes, my 2014 Mojo is considered a 2.5.

If you are able, make the jump to the 15 or newer Mojo. That extra half inch and the competition hull is amazing!!

Yup, it's called the SC hull, not to be confused with the SC model, it stands for Supra Competition. Many people think the 15 and up Mojo hull is an SA hull, that's simply not true, it is, in fact, a version of the Supra Competition hull.

How will you use the boat? If you are going to use the boat for surfing, tubing and general runabout, it is a great boat. If you are looking at this boat to wakeboard, it is lacking in that department. If you want a nice clean wake then steer away from the Mojo2.5. and think LSV.. Good luck.

The way I read this, it seems like you contradict yourself, in regards to the wakeboarding wake behind the mojo?

Or are you saying the extra half foot and newer mojo hull makes that much difference?

He didn't contradict himself as he is talking about 2 different boats, the Mojo 2.5 and 2015 and up Mojo are mot the same boats. They do look similar, but that's where it ends. That extra half inch and the SC hull make a world of difference.

SC changed the hull on the boat in 15. The pre 15 Mojo hulls are not good if you wake board. If you are going to do any wakeboarding, look at 15 or newer Mojo's or look at the LSV.

I have owned a pre 15 Mojo... wakeboarding is why I no longer own one....

Half inch?

My bad, half foot, 6"...oops, was watching football. The Mojo 2.5 is 22.5', the '15 and up Mojo is 23'

I have a 12 mojo and very happy. surf and wake are fine. you can have issues cleaning the wake at slower speed but i have found nose weight helps. my 6 yo wakeboard at 13.5 and I can clean the wake with weight in the nose. I go 20.8 for me with 1/4 to half ballast and the wake is clean. I upgraded to 1100 rears and and added the swell wake gate and love the surf wave. so fun and playful

We went with the LSV! Frankly a bit part was the dealer (more reputable, an actual Moomba dealer vs. a dryland marine) and I love the snap out carpets!

Surfed her first this past weekend, very happy with our choice but we are adding more ballast up front for next season and getting our own suck gate (we borrowed a friends).

Thank you!

Those LSV's surf awesome with 1100's, center and front ballast and a stick on wake gate. We also add another 400 across the rear seat and another on surf side. Yes.....it's a lot of ballast but the wave is amazing. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171013/b53ae292e7293a3fb73e5a82310c8086.jpg
