There is one for sale at what I consider a good price (and in my price range). I just want to know if I can get a decent wake out of it with some added ballast.
Can anyone share their experience?

Yes it's a decent wake, not massive but definitely rideable. All depends on what you're used to. Surf wake will be OK, again nothing huge as it is a smaller boat with the older style thin profile so you can only load it down so much.

I had a 2000 Outback LS (same one as in my avatar) and had it "loaded down" for wakeboarding. 800# in the rear ski locker, 750# IBS in the nose. You better know how to drive when it's like that. Can't count on my hands alone the number of rollers we took over the nose and put 4-6" of water in the floor immediately. Never tried to surf behind it but I'm sure equally loaded with a SukGate and it would be OK. Great boat for the money, I bought cheap and put a lot of sweat equity in it. Sold it for mid 16's with all my upgrades still on it. Miss the personality it had on the water, but graduated to larger interior space and more freeboard!

Yeah I had a 2004 LS and you had to eeeeeeease out of the gas especially when surfing or you will nose dive and take rollers over the nose. Key is to ease off gas don't chop it, WAIT for rollers to go by for 10s and THEN turn back towards called rider.

2005 lsv, yes you will get the sun bathers up front wet. Bonus. Not a good surf, fine boarding, I don't throw in a lot off weight.
