I'm interested but I want the boom on the driver's side. What keeps you from flipping it over? I know you are supposed to order driver's side as an option but I've never been able to figure out what the difference is. It looks pretty flat which would be symmetrical, is there something special in the bracket that is directional? Do they just put the silkscreen "upside down"?

There is a slight angular cut to the boom where it inserts into the pylon mount. I am not sure but I think that angle keeps it from jumping up when the rider falls off.
I actually got the wrong model and was informed it wouldnt work on my DD.

I tried the boom on driver's side of my DD. Made it difficult to get up on plane, particularly with large (200 lb +) person. Maybe has something to do with direction of prop rotation. Moved the boom back to spotter side, where works perfectly. Boat instantly on plane and pops skier right up. Guess that's where it belongs.

The VDrive version wont work on the DD model according to Mike Siepel. The bend is different and so is the mounting clamp. It is also side specific whereas the DD version (B202) is universal and can switch sides supposedly.

The b202 will switch sides, but only if your boat can accommodate. Ours can't as the pylon is too far forward for the boom to reach behind the drivers seat.
