Want to start planning some trips for next year. Looking for fun, clean lakes in South Carolina and North Carolina where we can rent a house or something for a few days. Looking to surf, wakeboard, etc....
Thanks

Lake jocasee is beautiful and clear, state park has a couple of cabins that are for rent, and I believe they have a few campsites that are accessible by boat only.

We go to Lake Norman (just north of Charlotte) every year. Lots of houses on the HUGE lake and a good bit to do off the lake as well. You will have to be creative with where you rent as parts of the lake our wide open and rough, but we love it there.

There is lake Moultrie in SC. It's a pretty big lake and you can lock through the dam into Tailrace Canal if you would like. The water level changes about 75 feet in the lock. I haven't been there in quite some time so I don't know what the housing situation is these days.

I mean, I live on Lake Murray, and it huge and has 9 restaurants on it, so that's cool. Lotta houses to rent, and things to do, but the water is far from clear. Moultrie is cool, nothing like taking the run from the lake to the bay and enjoying the Charleston scenery. Public marinas let you stay overnight, then get a room somewhere and have fun, boat back up the next day. It takes about 3 hours at a tolerable pace to get from lake to when creek which has Reds, my favorite place to eat.
