So, a week ago the boat started bogging down under load and key on the fuel pump (high pressure) sounded off so i got replacement and it ran fine for two outings.

Fast forward to today, first set not issues and i get in the water for second set but then the boat starts running rough and misfiring and eventually died (had to be pulled off by buddy). I bought the boat in February and it ran like crap so replaced every normal maintenance item (plugs, wires, fuel/ oil filter, cap, etc) so don't think that's the first place to look.

Funny thing is it seems more pronounced when the engine gets hot (gauge reads normal) but after sitting for 45 minutes as we got towed in it started up and sounded fine.

Any thoughts???

Sounds like the fuel pump is going out

Compression test it.

Coil pack. My 2003 did it and we replaced a lot of parts. Still did it.

Sounds like it needs a compression test...

Are the fuel pump connections all solid? On my 02 Outback they were very lose when I bought it used and fuel supply was intermittently disrupted sometimes, especially if it were choppy out.

Update. Low pressure fuel pump was shot making it act like vapor lock. Had an awesome evening out today! Even got a rare slalom run.
