I have a 2016 Mojo with an Aviator tower. The bimini has straps on the front that fasten to the front cleats. Are those straps necessary? It seems like it would probably be sturdy enough without them, but I don't want to ruin the top.

Anyone use the top exclusively without the straps? Any issues?

I have 120 hrs on my 16 and have only used the straps one time when I was trailering a few miles on a highway at 40+ mph. Other than that I have never used the straps, they look terrible. That bimini is an awful design, but they seemed to sort it out for the 17 models.

I would suggest they're there for a reason. What about the option to shorten them to the windshield? My MB was to the glass and wasn't a problem or a big eye sore.

I lost my bimini to the bottom of the lake and the Manufacturer will not warranty due to the fact that it was not strapped. No one straps the bimini and the ball joint appears to have failed.

Use the straps!! I had my craz without the front cleats on it and it folded! Crap design yes, but use the straps!

I have a 2016 Craz and mine doesn't have anywhere to strap it down. I have the one with the joints just like two posts up.

I agree, terrible design. Anyone else been eyeing up the 2017's and thinking they could replace that front bar and arms from those new models and buy a couple tower clamps to thread the folding arms onto?

I would love to upgrade to the new top. Big upgrade over the 2016. Hopefully it is not too pricey.
