Occasionally my 2000 Kanga (310 Carb) has some hesitation/stuttering when accelerating. I'm going to start with the fuel filter and go from there. My question is regarding the layout of the fuel system on this boat...does it only have a single fuel pump and filter? It looks like there is a screw on filter on the stbd side of engine as well as a water separator. There is also a fuel pump mounted on the stbd side of the engine compartment. Does that mean that all of the fuel related pumps/filters are in the engine compartment and there aren't any in the tank/outside of the engine compartment? Probably a stupid question but I couldn't find a layout diagram for the boat. Thanks!

Also, when replacing the spin on fuel filter I'm guessing that I should drain the tank first?

The gas is easy to pump out if you suspect the gas is old and you want to replace it. Remove the gas line at the carb, put it in a gas can and then jumper the fuel pump. It wouldn't hurt to add Sea Foam to the fresh gas and spray the carb with cleaner. I do all this except the Sea Foam each spring.

The gas was new last week so if I don't have to drain it I would rather not but I wasn't sure if the gas would drain out of the line as soon as the filter comes off. I'm going to hit it with carb cleaner as well. Sea Foam in the spring is also a good idea.

The filter will be full but there is no flow from the tank.

Just changed it, thanks! Does anyone know what part number to use for the distributor cap? It looks like the source of my issue is an old distributor cap, looks corroded inside the cap.
