Has anyone ever add auto pilot to an older boat? If so what after market brand? How bad was it?

If you are just looking for a speed control system (not auto pilot), there are 2 systems that I am aware of. PerfectPass and Hydrophase.

I had installed the Perfect Pass StarGazer Wake in on old I/O boat that we had. The install was pretty straight forward, not too bad. The only issue I ran into was that a cable that was sent was too short and I was worried it could mess up my weekend since PP is out of Canada. They understood the situation, realizing that it was potentially an issue on their end and expedited the cable and we were on the water for the weekend. The service at PP is fantastic - or at least to me it was.

Another system that I have read a bit about and a few people on other forums have raved about is Hydrophase.

I cannot give you any first hand experience, but have heard good things about this system as well.
