This happened over 4th weekend. The area is really close to the party cove at the lake and is one of the busiest spots on the lake. I wouldn't think of getting out in that area in my LSV.

Sank or submerged? There should be enough floatation to account for water ballast thus a submerged situation that is remedied by pumping out the bilge and ballast. If lead ballast is used with an overloaded boat then sinking could be possibility.

I don't believe Centruion boats are NMMA certified due to the fact that they fill the hull cavities with water instead of flotation foam. So, it could have sank, but the pic looks like it may have just been a really expensive bath tub.

That video...wow. Did the dude have a full bow sack or something? I never saw him take rollers over nose until very end.

It didn't help that the one guy took forever to get his boat on the trailer.

that 70's erea jet boat was doing just fine, that really wasn't that rough to warranty the boat sinking. He had people in the bow and bet he stopped suddenly going into the waves and dipped the bow and instant bathtub

Solid argument AGAINST permanent weight (lead or otherwise) in the bow of your boat. You just never know when mother nature is gonna hand you a sh!t-sammich.
I agree that the yellow boat should have either loaded their trailer or gotten it the hell out of the way for someone else. Easy to arm-chair quarterback this situation though. I've been in some serious wind driven waves and it can definitely make you pucker. nose in, bow up, and actively managing your throttle.

Reminder for all of us that if you boat often and long enough you will see water conditions as bad or worse as in the video. The important thing is to get to the launch before the storm hits or get into a protected area, wait it out and then head to the launch. Storm fronts with high gusts are short lived and inexperienced boat owners instinct is to get out of the water. The good thing about waiting it out is often the storm passes, the waves subside and you have the place all by yourself as everyone packed up and booked.

Man that poor Malibu didn't look right for the waves out there. I don't know the BU's very well but it seemed way nose heavy and asking for water in the bow. Looks like everybody made it safe to shore without the boat totally going down. I will say the MC putting his boat on the trailer looked like a pro in that mess.

I remember crapping my pants trailering my stern drive last year when I got caught in something similar. I have trouble getting my Mondo out of the water when it's calm, can't imagine trying to do it in that. Wow!! Props to the MC driver!

That MC should have loaded the trailer a lot shallower so he didn't get banged around so much coming in.

That Bu was a direct drive, wonder how much weight he had upfront because I know any boat I have when I accelerate to 10mph I'm nose high, either way that guy shouldn't have been in the bow either.

Plenty of room to talk without being there, I thankfully haven't been in anything that bad I believe, but definitely had a similar experience a few years back when 30mph winds popped up and it was stressful getting on the trailer in that.

all you have to do is throw it over the side. much cheaper to replace a few bags of lead than the boat.

Anybody else put their wakeplate all the way up in these situations? I find it helps keep the bow up in rough water. Also did anybody notice people sitting in the front or was that a different boat?

Well, that also assumes the driver knows how to actually drive his Dad's boat. :(

Or get it to the back of the boat to get the bow up.

Yeah, so many ways that dude could have helped himself in that situation.

The power turns could have been a factor! That jet boat seemed to be ok just idling around so I think 95% of it was driver error.
But yes the conditions were not optimal LOL
