I have had a 2006 outback v for the last couple of years and love it. My business partner and i go wake boarding in it all the time. Outside of that it is used as a family boat. We live in the north where the wind in prominent and we usually runit on smaller lakes so we never have had an issue with waves until this weekend. We were on lake Okaboji and it was windy and packed so we were getting bounced around all over the place. From what i have researched on here there are ways to drive the boat to help with the chop but still has a rough ride. I ended up talking to a couple people that told me the hull is to low and flat for this type of lake. My question is would a newer Mondo be noticeably different in rough water then my v or do most wake board boats have this issue.

Yes the newer Moombas have a deeper V hull and handle the chop a lot better. My old 04 Möbius had a very flat hull and felt like it was pounding the waves in the slightest of chop

I think the key word is 'better.' The newer boats with the deeper v and higher rise will be better, but wakeboats in general are not great in heavy chop. You can still have a rough time with a brand new 23 footer.

I love my Mondo but it does not handle rough water very well. From what I have heard the Craz handles waves and rough water the best followed by the Mojo.

I'm starting to see a correlation between length and smoothness.

I have been caught on the wrong end of big lakes in my Mondo a few times. At 7-15mph with 1/4 full front ballast it is fairly smooth and dry ride. As soon as the boat gets on plane it will beat you up.
