I am thinking of having the windshield tinted on my 2007 lsv. Any suggestions on how dark the tint should be? Thoughts on what a fair price is? Send pictures of your tinted windshields if you have them?

This is my 18% if I had to redo it I would go 5% FTW [emoji1591] I paid less than $400, took him 2 days lol. He said he would never do another wake boat again.

He didn't take out the glass, to get the best results you need to remove the glass but then it's a bitch to re align it all back again.

5% here also, $400 with glass off the boat so there are no light gaps. Made the mistake of doing 20% once, never again.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170525/cacf709483894edee35285d4de380634.jpg

There are several other threads with lots of pics and discussion as well. If the search function within forum doesn't work, try using Google

Another 5% for $400. Only thing I'd change is the price, ha

Allright. Let's hear the real discussion on this. We have had a couple threads now with everybody posting their badass tint jobs. To me they all look great. The consensus is that the darker you opt for the more you like it. But, is that all there is to it? Let's hear the discussion as to day running, night time, bad weather, etc. If you love what you have, say why. If you wish you went darker or lighter -- or wish you would have never done it-- tell us why. No blame game but not everyone has the same boating conditions so let's hear it.

I'll go first. Tell me why I'm wrong. 5% seems so dark I would never look through it. It would look cool- yes. And, we don't boat at night. But, I'm still hesitant as I look through the windshield all the time in the FL sun. But, why not 18 or 20? Let's hear why you like what you picked.

Coming from a tinted vehicle i guess i don't give any thought to it. I do look more over the top of the windshield but that would be my preference with or without. I'd much prefer a tritoon cockpit

18 or 20 don't provide the same contrast, as far as looks go. The look of 5 is the biggest draw for me I suppose.

Mines 5%

I look over the windshield and I'm wearing dark glasses most of the time.
I also tinted dark to protect the dash plastic
Also to obscure my beverage when the beverage patrol passes
I dont boat at night
When I was out past dark I was still looking over the windshield and at my gps because it was dark as hell with no moon.

For the OP on the 07 you have to remove the windshield to tint it.

Pull the rubber strip of on it, there is a lot of screws.
There is 1 bolt on each side that goes through the fiberglass with a nut below.
Then 1 screw on each end of the frame where it meets at the gunnel

I'm curious to hear opinions from folks that have tinted windshield and how it is driving looking through them during the day. I really want to tint the windshield for the looks, but I spend most of my time looking through the windshield.

One of my favorite things about 5%, I can drive and look thru the windshield without wearing sunglasses.
