Some of you have asked about the Malibu tray I ordered. Turns out it didn't drop right in the way I was hoping. The tray I ordered was for an 07 wakesetter 247, but I didn't know that at the time. I had to do major modifications to it to make it work. See below:

Original tray:

I had to cut the sides off to make it the correct width.

Then I found that it was too deep and needed to be shortened. I did that by cutting the back wall in half and riveting it back together shorter.

After that, I needed to put the sides back on it so stuff stays put. More riveting.

A little more cutting to get it all dialed in.

Overall, I'm happy with it and really like having the convenient storage option.

did they have it in stock or did you have to order it

my contact stated that the item # was a 07 247 wakesetter and was out of stock and discontinued

They have them in stock at Malibu marine in kelowna, bc. Shipping was a killer.

You could have vacuum formed a piece of plastic with all that work.

Yes, but I live in the middle of no where. It's DIY or nothing.

How much would something like that run?

A wooden jig, a piece of plastic, your oven and a vacuum cleaner. Cheap.

I'm all ears, but that piece is bigger than a standard oven.

Well you will have to rig a few heaters or an old oven element.
Check YT for DIY vacuum forming.
