Thought I'd post this short video I came across from last year. 2 Reasons - 1 its just a great video and 2, Mike has lost a TON of weight since this was shot (something many of us want to do). I think Mike should post up a new video from this year. I bet he looks dramatically different! Congrats Brotha!

Hard work, committing to what he set out to achieve, controlling what he ate, and letting the time it takes go by without letting the slumps and slow downs knock him down or off track!

Man, again Mike..huge props. I bet you feel amazing. Keep it up!

Dusty is correct, me and him talked a few times while I was getting started in this journey

I didn't tell the forum about it because honestly I was more afraid of adding pressure to it.

I look at it as a life change and what I did to lose the weight I have to continue the rest of my life.

Biggest thing was my food intake and the quality of food.

I stay on a strict 1500cal a day. No deep fried foods.
No Greasy foods.
No sweets
No processed sugars.
Very light on bread carb intake.

Also my meal plates are what most call a saucer not a real plate. This helps limits my portion size.

What is your metabolic rate? Years back I had mine tested and my resting metabolic rate was about 1800 calories a day. I'm sure it's not that high anymore.

That said, 1500 seems like an amount for when you want to lose, but what about when you get to that point where you're ready to maintain...

Mike Awesome Job sir, check into a program called Avatar nutrition. From here you should try and reverse dirt. 1500 cal will suck the rest of your life.

Thanks guys

@Trayson
I don't know my metabolic rate.
Yes 1500 would be losing weight. I am still looking to lose more but I have slowed my weight loss to apx 1-2lbs month.

I am starting to incorporate working out in my routine but the first year I wanted to focus on my eating and I didn't want any extra cravings from working out lol

Cool.. Great job..

Isn't crazy how every procesed food has extra added sugar. I'm always amazed how sugar is in ketchup, crazy stuff..
