Kenwood remote control any good?

Added a kenwood headunit (kmr d768bt) thinking that it would be compatible with the aeware wired remotes but doesn't. So I looked into the new remotes (kca rc 35 or 55mr) and their reviews are pretty bad but a lot of the reviews are for larger vessels that spend most of their life outside/on the water. Anyways, for those with experience with these units what is your thoughts?

Does your unit have a remote in wire? I believe it is light blue?

Yes, steering control/ remote wire. I didn't did the install but the guy woo did said it didn't work. Maybe I'll try, never did but another remote just using the phone for volume via Bluetooth.


Edit: just looked at the wiring and dang is it cobbled to sh*t! I thought professionals would do better than a high school kid but guess I wss wrong.

I added a kenwood head unit and remote at the transom. I left the aeware remote by the gauges. Both remotes work like they should! Try and wire it up...

I'm looking at a Kenwood KMR-D368BT. It has a steering control remote wire. Will this work with my aeware remote?

I have one of the new 55 remotes with a 316mr head unit I think? Works really well, but the cable is different from the older versions since the remote does so much more. I like it... my .02.
