Has anyone replaced the lake water temperature sensor on a new Moomba? I know it is associated with the paddle wheel. Looking for picture of where it is located and what I remove to get to it

It's the black thing that screws into the floor on the starboard side of the V drive.

I have had mine replaced a couple times under warranty already. Temperature is not a big thing when it doesn't work. It's when your speed quits. Your cruise does not work very good.

I agree with that

If you haven't already, look under the hull for a black disc maybe 3" in diameter with a paddlewheel in the center. Inside the boat, there's a threaded collar that you can remove by hand. You can take it out and replace while the boat is in the water... it'll take on water but there are little flaps that will limit the flow a bit while you work on it.

On my direct drive, the cable runs all the way up to the dash. You can splice at the back, just be sure your wiring gets wrapped up so that it doesn't get water or oil on it or lay in the bilge.

Sounds like you might be under warranty. It's about a $130 part if you find it online. Closer to $200 from the dealer. The part on mine was an ST-300 Airmar/Raymarine.

The dealer sent me the part and I replaced it. Problem solved

Is it safe to assume that every new boat ships with a water temp. sensor? I noticed on my '19 Craz this weekend it was showing -99 degrees. I'm pretty tough in cold temp's but I don't think that was accurate. At first I thought the boat just wasn't equipped with one so the computer defaulted to that reading, but seems like a pretty ancillary item for a boat not to have.
