I use needle vise grip to remove it. to replace: put the impeller in the pump.....turn it in the good direction so the rubber fins go in the good direction.... tap it lightly with a rubber mallet until it goes in place put back the cover with the seal ( I tighten the screws in a way to have an equal pressure on the seal)..don t forget to put lube on the impeller
