I am going out in a couple hours for the first time this season. Went to prep the boat and found that dealership pulled a bolt that last year they did not. Anyone know where this goes?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170319/b90932459b541cb91721c4c076438eee.jpg

That is your drain plug at the back of the boat

I think that's the one that you have to access through the floor hatch. Tranny or v drive... whichever it is. Is it like 1" or something like that?

OK I'll go look in that hatch. Def not drain plug, I've pulled that out a few times times plus or minus. This goes in the block or something.

Pull the four screws that hold in the hatch housing.

Should be on the face that's nearest the front of the boat. It's a real pita to get at if I remember correctly.

That looks like a sacrificial anode. Probably goes on the marine cooler or exhaust manifold meant to prevent rust.

My craz doesn't have any plug manifolds. There is one similar in that black pot looking thing near the back of the engine on the drivers side, I think. Oh man this is driving me nuts too. Hope you find it. My manual is in storage, otherwise I'd go.grab it for you.

I believe it takes a 1 1/16" socket, and you will want the socket

Haha man, I could feel the pressure building! Glad you won't miss any time on the water. You better post some pics for those of us that still have 3 feet of ice on the lake!

Got it in. Now what is making me nervous is that it only threaded about half way in before it getting tight so half the threads are popped out. I am fairly certain it is not cross threaded. I didn't ever tighten to make sure it didn't screw anything thing up. I'll just keep an eye on it when I launch. Fingers crossed...

If anyone out there reads this and has access to check, I would super appreciate knowing if anyone else has some thread exposed or if the hex of this bolt is flush with the v-drive

Could be some rust preventing it from seating

I'm almost positive mine had like a half inch of thread showing.

You need to put some pipe tape on it. This should be a pipe thread bolt which is slightly tapered and will not go in all the way.

Update....thanks everyone for the quick help. This forum is amazing! We had a great first day out on the lake and no issues as of yet. Water was even 58 degrees to my surprise, almost didn't need the drysuit! Crazy Colorado...

It's an NPT fitting so it shouldn't go all the way in. It's tapered so it gets tight as it goes. If it's brass you may not need teflon tape but it wouldn't hurt to have it either
