What's the difference between the auto flow and surf max edition

KG's Supra24
02-03-2017, 01:02 AM
The Flow 2.0 Surf MAX package is an optional surf package that’s inclusive of 1800lbs ballast in the stern and 1200lbs of ballast in the bow as well as the Flow 2.0 Surf System. This package increases the Mojo and Craz ballast options from the standard 2,000lbs to now 3,000lbs. Making it the largest factory ballast option of the value segment boats.

Autoflow was the first surf system controlled from the dash. - 2015

Autoflow 2.0 added larger plates (maybe diff software on dash?) - 2016

Autowake is new for 2017 as well as a color display at the dash. I think autowake comes with smart plate, which uses all 3 plates to assist in planing. Autowake is ....

"AutoWake's integrated sensor constantly measures for changes in weight distribution inside the boat. It detects pitch, roll and depth in the water, and adjusts ballast automatically to maintain your wake’s shape."

Nice color scheme!

LMFAO! I thought I had enough boxes ticked till I started going through some of the "Mods" folders....my wife is gonna hate y'all

Nice color scheme!

Thank you sir! It's a riff on the Mondo scheme on all the promotional material but I think the black deck & hull make the Ultra Blue & Sundance Yellow pop harder. With the fat metallic flake, I can't wait to see the Ultra Blue in the sun on the lake!

No doubt, the black is gonna be a heat soak and will be scorching hot....I'll just have to tread lightly and lay out towels.

Have you been issued a build # yet?

Chris Crysdale from Skier's Choice informed me the build process usually takes 10 days from the production slot you get. I was told the build allotment for Feb is full but my dealer already had a spec order in and was able to swap it with my order. My build should be starting the week of the 13th with an early March delivery.

We ride exclusively Lake Livingston and the Trinity River. My in-laws have a house on the North side of the lake so we store the boat up there. It's a really protected area and short drive by water or trailer to get to the river and when the conditions are right there is no better riding than the river.

If you go to Livingston, you may as well go to the Trinity River. Somerville is good for a quick day out from our side of town, but it can be a crap shoot as to whether it'll be rideable or not. Any bit of wind and it can get really choppy.

Yeah, I know Somerville doesn't always have the best glassy conditions but it's a short jaunt from West Houston and my family has a lot of good memories there growing up. I do plan on exploring the Trinity, I hope to make a couple trips before the TX Jam to get a lay of the land out there. I'm not new to boating but I am new to a V-drive so I feel like a need a few more low speed maneuvering sessions to get over the jitters....being in a familiar place would seem to help but I'm definitely down to do some exploring around Texas lakes.

You can learn the T in a day. My advice is take off Thursday and Friday the week of the Jam and head up there Thursday. The only tricky part is getting to and through the cut. Once in the river you just follow the channel and it's glass for days. We plan on being there all day Thursday so we can show you around.

Did you notice on the build that the accents on the dash are colored but on the actual boat they are not. Just noticed the same on my build as skiers choice is sending me pictures. Sent them an email. Will see what they say. Mine should be intense green but are gray.

Ok. Just wanted to make sure I was not the only one who's boat was turning out this way. I guess it's a flaw with the configurator. But the mojo pros are colored either blue orange or green depending on what color boat you get.

Either way your boat does look sweet. It's cool to see boats like yours that stands out. There are a lot of moombas that are exactly the same. I know of 3-4 dealers that have boats on the lots the same exact colors and gel coat pattern.

So it's gonna be a lil while till I can do the W7 in a custom enclosure, in the meantime I'll make the most of the factory sub.

I found a rhino-lined slot-port truck style enclosure for $60 on Amazon that fits the space perfect. I have been blown away at how good the factory sub sounds once it's in a proper enclosure. A single 10 shouldn't sound this good but it jams. The "free-air" helm panel simply wasn't cutting it but this will keep me placated till I can do something bigger and better [emoji6] https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170605/320490c443b6f85b3fd151871bcd03f6.jpg

Like I said previously, if you have the 800.5 amp it will power 2 of those 10s. I have 4 in a sealed enclosure under my helm & it pounds!

My buddy just put a W7 ported under his helm in a MB & I was so excited to hear it. I thought I was going to be blown away! It does sound good but I was kind of expecting a little more. He also had the stock exile 12" in the stock location as well.

The KM10s are very musical & tight. Offers clean hard hitting bass at low watts. Everyone is amazed when they hear my system & cant believe it's only 4 10s.

I do have the factory 800.5 so it would be tempting to add another 10 to squeeze out a little more. Whether it's 4 10s, 2 12s, or a W7 (13.5?) I have some time to do some more research and save up for the sub(s), amp and enclosure....this lil Amazon box is really just something interim to hold me over.

I did get the greenlight from my CFO to add another pair of REV 10s by the end of summer with the intention of doing the sub upgrade over the winter. Looking forward to hearing David's two pairs in his Mojo once it's dialed in.

Thanks but it’s not going to work out. I removed the factory kicker 10” and it is 2 ohm. Was hoping it was 4 ohm so I could just add another. I have the kicker 800.5 amp so I guess I’ll just have to start over. Thanks again.

RC_Hinojosa
01-24-2018, 09:20 AM
That is odd because I could swear the factory KM10 was 4 ohm, maybe mine was a fluke? You'd probably have a hard time off-loading the single 10" but you could snag (2) 4 ohm KM10s off Crutchfield for about $300 - https://www.crutchfield.com/p_206KMW104/Kicker-43KMW104.html?tp=61750

Good luck and sorry for your trouble.

No problem. Thanks for sending me the link. Since I have to start over I may just go wetsounds. Here’s a pic of the back of the sub. I’m assuming because on the kicker 800.5 you get 200@4 ohm and 400@2 ohm on the sub channel.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180124/930f04cf644001892356878ff6c36231.jpg

Thanks!! I had it built by Extreme in Katy, TX. There is a rhino-lined ported box built & tuned to WetSounds specs for the XXX sub, then there is the vinyl wrapped trim panel. The cherry on top is the back-lit vinyl wrapped Plexiglas logo. The plexi is clear and there is a vinyl Moomba Boats logo on the back that gives an etched glass look.

The WS XXX slams...great output and excursion for hitting those low lows.

VERY nicely done! Your boat is sweet. Love the color scheme. I am going to have to look into something similar for a sub setup. I am at least building a box around the Kicker sub. I have been disappointed in the bass output, but I understand the stock kicker really isn’t made for free air.

No, not at all. All the new pieces have 3M backing...I would cut the backing paper in the middle of a piece and fold like an inch back. Then I would position the piece and tape down one side, pull the backing and repeat for the other side.

The real pain is adhesive removal of the existing non-skid on the rear gunnels, swim platform, walk-through & V-drive hump. We're talking major sweat equity....it's nowhere near as simple as some youtube vids make it out to be. Even with the 3M adhesive remover wheel because that makes a huge mess and will overheat all but the most stout cordless drills.

I am currently in the process of ordering a boat from Rinkers and I was wondering how well were they able to match your REV10s to the boat? Has the paint held up well on them? I am just concerned that since I am ordering my boat with the tower accents white that they won’t be able to match the white perfectly and that will drive me nuts. TIA

Thanks, the color matched REV10s and bimini arms add a pop of color on the tower and receive a lot of compliments.

Rinker's did a phenomenal job with the color accents and will take care of you, they have the PPG codes from SC and the Sundance Yellow is totally spot on. After two seasons, the paint has held up extremely well but I also protect the REV10s with Speaker Sox when not in use.

Just make it clear which white you are wanting to match (gel coat vs tower accent) just in case there are tonal differences between the boat and the tower.

Figured I'd revive this old thread....

Installed an ACME 2937 15 X 11 prop and can't wait to try it out with the boat slammed.

Hat tip to David for letting me borrow his prop puller!

Sweet!! I know you are running slammed so I assume this is to help you with all that weight?

The OJ 945 15 X 13 was good with Enzos & lead but kinda struggles when I add a 1000lb sumo sac. It can barely get to 11mph.

I told the ACME rep I primarily surf and run around 5,600lbs of ballast, the 2937 was the recommendation even though Wakemakers prop-finder suggested the 2419 15 X 12.

We may not have high altitude but the rep reminded me our hot humid air is a heat soak for the Raptor.

I'm guessing I'll top out around 27-28mph but I don't really care about that.

My crew tends to run on the small side so we sack it out.

I hope to do some water testing this weekend [emoji1687]

Nice man!! I am jealous about this weekend. The weather looks great!! You will have to report back with some RPMs at surf speed and top speed. It will be interesting to hear how it does.

I have the OJ 945 and it’s been great. I only run 4200 lbs, but plan to add 400-600 of lead and a 400lb sac at some point. My crew is only about 3-6 people. I’m
New to owning this type of boat. How are you not getting swamped with eaves over the bow with all that ballast. I’ve already taken a few over the bow, albeit I’m new and still learning. Our lake is always fairly busy and we haven’t found much glass yet, so when we surf it’s usually rough conditions. I’d be interested in getting some more low end torque. Eager to see how the new prop works.

Often it has to do with the direction you're turning. I've seen many people do this, did this myself at first when I was learning. When your rider falls and you turn to pick him/her up, first just wait a few secs an let the waves pass by, but, if in a hurry, make sure turn towards the non-surf side. If you turn toward surf side is when you get the huge surf waves over the bow. You may already know this but I thought I'd throw that out since I see so many people make that mistake. My wife still does it every once in a while.

This is super easy...just slow your roll.

The moment I see the rider go down, I back off the throttle in a slow linear fashion and let the wave pass me. Then I'm free and clear to return to the rider without catching a roller over the bow.

This is a visual of how to do it right, like the others said, throttle down, let wave pass you then slowly return to rider. Power turns are bad for everyone.
