So this video was taken in November, the week before we winterized. My buddy finally got around to pulling an edit off of it.

It's amazing to think this was only 2 months ago.

Meanwhile in the SE the snowstorm that almost shut down Atlanta LOL.

This cracked me up, people were buying all the water, milk, break in all the stores, entire rows of shelves were empty.

We went to get a bottle of crown royal apple, couple cases of beer, and the butcher for meats to smoke.

Anyhow here is the house and boat during the massive storm.

So, I'm pretty excited that I get to contribute some BOATING pictures to the January thread!!!

Last night I got the call and invite, so I packed up the trusty AWD Audi S6 with my snowboard and gear as well as my wakeboard, wakesurf board, drysuit and gear.

We drove up to Mt Hood Meadows and I snowboarded in the morning. knocked out about 12k vertical in 2 hours.
http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u492/traysonh/Moomba%20XLV/0128170854a_HDR_zpsfruppdve.jpg
http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u492/traysonh/Moomba%20XLV/0128170958b_Burst01_zps73uqwzge.jpg

then we drove straight to the boat launch and met up with some friends.
It actually worked out pretty good, because it was only in the 40's in town so we just kept on most of our ski gear!
http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u492/traysonh/Moomba%20XLV/0128171425_zpsanncz1mz.jpg
My boat's winterized, so we we out on a friend's Axis.

And while the water was smooth, I was in for a bit of a surprise when we looked at the water temp. My previous record I think was riding in 48 degree water and I shattered the record today!!!!!
http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u492/traysonh/Moomba%20XLV/0128171421_HDR_zpswhvfmsi2.jpg

3 of us wakeboarded, and 3 of us surfed (I did both). with the drysuit, fleece pants and a mini-puffer jacket; my legs and upper body were totally warm and dry. I had some nice neoprene kayaking gloves and the hands were fine. The feet were fine in my closed toe wakeboard bindings, but got a bit chilly when I stopped and sunk in the water. Surfing I was fine with neoprene booties on my feet. For wakeboarding I had a neoprene cap on, but for surfing I just war a fleece earband and a trucker hat, LOL. Yeah, it was a bit of a shocker when I crashed surfing!

So there ya go: TRIPLE BOARD DAY! snowboard/wakeboard/wakesurf

trayson

My buddy surfed with no gloves. the other guy surfed with no gloves or booties. Damn.

That cold water riding is no joke! Back when I picked up a board sponsor and had to get some shots. December 22nd we found the ramp had one section plowed and headed up the hill. 3' of new snow, 32° air and 32° water and zero surfing. We had a cooler of hot water to help thaw out and it was a life saver. Never will do that again ;)

So here is how my January wrapped up. Picked my boat up from 2 months of sitting at the dealer waiting for warrenty work to be completed to find it in less than optimal condition. I had cleats installed so my Bimini would function how it should in the future. Turns out the tech drilled a hole in the wrong damn spot and did one of the worst gel coat repairs I have ever seen. Then it was buffed above the rub rail and I have absolutely horrible swirls marks that after 3 hours of polishing yesterday I could not get to go away. It seriously looks like it was done with sand paper. I have had several people tell me this can't be mended without flat our repainting it which really sucks. Above the rail looks flat matte black now while below looks nice and glossy. And to add insult to injury one of my wires to my interior led lights got cut and broken so I now have to deal with that. My interior is filthy dirty from sitting outside in colorado weather for 2 months not being wrapped and only having the cover. This was enough to ruin my day, week, month, and entire winter. What was my absolute babied love of my life (aside from the wife and kids lol) now feels completely molested and tainted. My wife even brought up selling it and moving on after this.Iam sure the dealer will do all they can to make it right again but to me it will never be the same. I also don't know how it could have ever been released back to me in this condition when it was mint when I dropped it off.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170130/4e9dd763e1808b68d9d1ece0de67fdc6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170130/e64e951b72f26c0d617a71e65b2646f3.jpg

I didn't get to look at it. They had this plastic protective stuff already on it for the drive home. He told me about the repair and was upfront but I didn't realize it was THAT bad til I got it home. They said they would contact someone near me to get it squares away. They are great people and we know them well but the service department dropped the ball big time. The fact I have to spend more time and gas money and miss work to get this handled it really annoying. At this junction I would just as soon give it back

He told me about it when I picked it up and said he would have it taken care of. To me I should have not been allowed to pick it up UNTIL it was taken care of. He was very upfront about the fact it happened but it should have been dealt with properly and I don't get why I only heard about it when I picked it up and not the week before when it was done.

I'd would have wanted to know when it happened so I could make decisions about who fixed it. Gel coat repairs shouldn't be taken lightly.

What a b**ch!! I'm sorry.

Ya this just totally sucks. I'm chomping at the bit to talk to the service manager tomorrow. I was hoping to cool down since Saturday but each day I'm getting progressively worse. To me boating, and this boat, isn't just toy, it's my passion and an in large the key to much of my happiness. Certainly my justification for busting my ass working as much as I do. To not have it how I want it pains me. I would just have kept my last boat and not traded in on this had I known this was coming.

Congrats & beautiful boat! Question, how come you didn't want to tie the yellow into the interior? Like the welt or something? Like this...

Wonder how much the winter plastic wrap had to do with them scratches? Seems like your handling it the correct way and working with the dealer instead of just putting them on blast via internet. With the right product and tools them scratches will come out and look new.

Ya he said he was confident it would get buffed out. My worry is what a couple people who saw it said they didn't see how. I spoke for a while on the phone last night and he was very accommodating and knew where I was coming from. It's hard because it ultimately falls on the service department but as the face of the business he has to stand behind them. I am also just really bothered to have to spend all this extra time and gas money to deal with the issue that should not be an issue.

Paul custom canvas the supposed to be the cats meow. To my understanding that have won some good awards and who every local shop trusts to do repairs even on the top dollar boats. I would start there for sure
