Hi
I not sure if anybody here is familiar with the town of mashpee on cape cod ma
you will know about mashpee wakeby lake if not Ill describe it to ya this lake does not have a lunch dock what you do is lunch from a paved ramp the float your boat to the shore then launch from there when ready right now my family has a bayliner 175 i/o stern drive so when we launch we have it trimmed up slightly now my parents are trading in the bayliner for a fishing boat and I would like to get an outback v on my own but not sure if this boat would launch from the shore seeing there's no way to trim the drive please post any tips on what I should do? thanks for your help

PS about the outback v are there any disadvantages of owning a v drive??

you need +/- 3 ' of water. At most with a little wading that should be easy.

Why not load averyone but the truck driver and just head out. The driver can swim out.

DA's - boat payments, boat repairs etc.

If you use it, you are fine. If you park it, well - that hurts.

I second SD2's recommendation - load up first, launch, then have the driver meet you out in the lake a bit.

Advantages of V-Drive:
--------------------------
* Much more "social" boat configuration - no need to change seating based on pulling skier, etc.
* LOTS more storage room
* Better orientation for adding ballast for wakeboarding/wakesurfing.
* Better overall weight distribution for wakeboarding, wakesurfing even w/o ballast

Disadvantages to V-Drive:
-----------------------------
* One more item to break down, check/change fluids in.
* Slight loss of torque vs Direct drive
* Not as flat a wake for Slalom skiing
* Slightly less manuverrable than a direct drive (turns on a nickel, not a dime) ;)

That said - I LOVE my LSV and would not change for the world, and I only ski and do not wakeboard or wakesurf much (yet)

Hope this helps,

Joe

p.s. - Outback V vs. Bayliner I/O is like night and... um... being on the sun!

I agree with Joe, I had a bayliner 185 for 5 years before i got my outback V this year. Drive one and you will see....:)
