Has anyone had a problem with the fiberglass supporting the dash cracking angd this leading to a crack

I've had cracks in the hard material behind the vinyl (plastic or fiberglass) around my gauges. It's caused one of my gauges to actually get pulled back through the opening and fall down. I've "fixed" it by putting some of the QUIK STEEL putty and reinforcing the cracked pieces. It's been working great and my gauges don't get pulled out anymore.
