Anyone do this? In my Mojo I know my length and width are limited, but i believe I have plenty of height room to play with. Wondering if it would be worth it?

I did it, worth it for sure. I shortened the L portion that came under the seats and added height.

How high did you go? What were your dimensions and how much do they weight?

Here is the rendering I was sent for approval when I had my bags made. I measured the lockers and tried to get all of the usable space, I'm certain that when these feel since they fit the lockers they are able to expand close to 1100 hundred pounds

The rendering indicates 920 lbs. Are you saying they bulge so much that they fill to 1100 lbs? Just looking for clarification. I'm thinking about ditching my 1100's and having some customs made if it will gain me some ballast.

Yes, I feel like when they are completely full to capacity there is a very good chance they are pushing 1100.

what did they end up costing? I would imagine your bag would give a ballpark of what a typical stepped custom bag of that general size would run. it's hard to figure out ballparks from their website.

Right at 300 each if I recall

okay, cool. that's certainly reasonable based on what other bags sell for. not cheap, but not exorbitant.

I contacted fly high, they wanted somewhere around 150 more per sac.

I also had wakemakers fabricate custom bags for my SA. They have worked great so far and at much lower price than fly high. The only thing that threw me off is that the bags ports are 1 1/8" (threaded side of fitting). They forgot to ship with the bags and what I had in my stash didn't fit as they are all 1".

How much do those ballast hold weight wise 1400 lbs ?

The images are really small and hard to view can you send some bigger pictures.

Thx
Dave

I have actually found a way to sort of calculate how much the bags with weight. If you take the volume of the bags divided by about 25, you get a close approximation.

if i remember my physics or chemistry or materials or some class from long ago, I think that the density of water is 62.4 pounds per cubic foot, in inches use 0.036 #/in^3. or closer to snyderaaron, this would be to calculate the volume in inches and divide it by 27.7.

Nice I just worked out a ratio from wakemakers sizes and weights. Sorry I'm a geek science tracher
