I'm considering purchasing 2 Soul Skimmers (1 for my wife and 1 for me). I searched and haven't found much related to Soulcraft on this website other than their name being mentioned in response to "What board should I choose?" threads. My questions are as follows:

1) Do you have experience on the Soul Skimmer board?

2) What are your thoughts as compared to other skim style boards?

3) Would you buy again? Are they worth the price of admission?

Thanks!

I can't give you direct feedback, but I have a buddy of mine that test rode one and it was his favorite board of the skim styles he tried. He liked the Lakewakes flying saucer *almost* as much, and with the price of the Lakewakes being much less, that's the direction he went. But he did like the soul skimmer better.

This is what my buddy had to say about the Soul Skimmer:

First off this board is absolutely amazing. It is a blast to ride. It is a quick board that tracks the water very well so you can carve it up and not get any squirrliness, even when just cruising. It is also loose enough that you can spin it or get slides in.
It does everything you want and does it very well.

It's pretty thin and light, the way it is constructed allows you to feel the water beneath you. You can feel what the board is doing, what the wake is doing, and really allows you to become one with the board. You aren't so much riding this board as you are just riding and the board is an extension of yourself. It is very intuitive to ride and very responsive.

The board sits low in the water and does a good job at cutting into the wake and cutting through it when you spin without tripping you up. It spins fast and controllable. You are able to stop it on a dime and not have to worry about over spinning if you don't want to.

Overall this board is a great overall board and atm my favorite skim style I've ridden. It is something that a newer rider could enjoy, but also something that has no limits in progression. This board will do whatever you want it to and you will have an awesome time doing it.

Thanks for the responses. I played phone and email tag with Jeff for a few days, but just put a deposit down on 2 boards. I'm pumped...mostly for my wife. She is really getting into surfing and I think she's going to love having her own custom board with an awesome design!

if he still works with Chelsea Benger in boise she is the bomb at painting. sure he has a much more local connection now tho since he's in cali...
you will not be disappointed with his product...

It sounds like there are a few designers that he uses. I wasn't much help in providing ideas. I struggle with stick figures, so I told him what I want incorporated into the design. Hopefully the person who does it for a living can put together something that blows me away!

He doesn't work with her directly, he will send your board to get but your paying all the shipping.

He dies do basic designs, strips and a few things for a small charge but if you want art like Chelsi did then your going to pay a premium for sure.

I'm glad I got two boards with her art, the last board I let him do it in house.

My daughter Jordan can help, if you'd like. She can either send Jeff the design electronically and he can print then glass in or Jeff can send the board here, she will hand paint and we will ship to you.

I've posted a few pics of her designs on here & can again if you're interested. No worries if not.

I really have no vision...I went to the Soulcraft website, found something pretty basic (just a Soulcraft turtle logo) and had my boat colors incorporated. Pretty boring, but hey, it's more than I did with my Doomswell. No skulls and flames, not that there's anything wrong with that.

My wife loves monarch butterflies and lilies, so I asked for a custom design.

If we enjoy the boards as much as I expect, maybe I'll do another one over the winter or next spring with some custom Moomba work done!

Thanks

Last year I had another board done based off the Mojo.

Got with Tinker and got permission to use the "No Worries" from him

Not a soul craft but mine is a DoomSwell and they didn't send off for paint. It's an actual graphic that they glassed in....Soulcraft makes an awesome board though!!!
