Hey guys here is the scenario...I have a 97 outback with 800lb and 450lb fat sac behind the dog house with a 90 degree suck plate I can surf ropeless but I am semi close to the front of the wave. I am thinking about building another suck gate but closer to 30 degrees and flipping it to the rear so it acts like a surf gate..Any one had any experience with this? I have also found that with only 800lbs on one side I can surf with the gate. The goal is to try and get a longer wave without sinking the boat. 1200 or so in fat sacs is about all I feel safe with. I know its not the ideal boat but its all I got so I want to make it work. Thanks!

We went out today and gave my suck gate a go. Worked fabulous!
Mines at 120° and i mounted at the bottom of the ski roo. 800 across the back and the 400# bag in the center walk way. Was the best ive seen yet.And didnt have to list the boat! Nice and long. Lost the steep slope and made it more gradual slope. Had tons of positive comments from all the buddies and even another group on the water with a 2010 mobius lsv.

That was until the gate slid off and we didnt have it teathered :(
Rode for damn near 2 hours before it slid off though. Just ordered 3 more seastow handles tonight. Im gonna teather it this time. Dont do no good on the bottom of the lake.

This boat suprisingly throws a good wake for what it is. And 1200 is about all you need. Keep 800 across the back with the seats out. Pull it tight to the side your surfing on. Take that 450 and put it in the center walkway. And a friend or 2 on the surf side, attach your suck gate just below the water line, and go. The bow weight made a huge difference in lengthing the wave. And we ride about 2100 rpms with stock prop. Make sure to calibrate your speedo's. I used a gps speed thing on my phone to set them. Once set, we ride at a hair over 10mph
