325 assult motor distributor cap HELP!

I've had a rough idle and took the distributor cap off the boat and found corrosion on the tines on the inside of the cap. i was wondering if this is an indmar part or a chevy part. and if i can go up advance to get one and if i could what is the part number?

Sierra 18-5247 would be a cap and rotor button kit.

Ok thanks that Looks like mine but it's from a boat parts dealer. Can I get one from a part store?

Some auto parts stores carry Sierra. If not they might could cross it up.

I just purchased my from Discount Autoparts. Have them look up a 1998 Chevy C-1500

I had some serious corrosion on my distributor cap and I simply carried my cap into the parts store and they got me one that was the same. I tried to find one that had brass terminals instead of aluminum, but they didn't have that. Regardless, it was cheap to find a cap/rotor that matched up. I also replaced the plugs at the same time. But my engine still had studdering and hesitation. so I bit the bullet and ordered plug wires from Bakes and that did the trick. (replaced the fuel filter too by taking that in and having them match it up). The coil wire had similar corrosion (just not as thick) and I'm sure that was my issue.

so I recommend that if you've got corrosion on your cap, that you think about your plug/coil wires.

Can't say if mine was replaced prior to me buying the boat. but mine had Aluminum contacts on it when I bought the boat.

Mine was the original cap and had aluminum studs.

as was mine. replaced it with a huh grade one from napa
