I was skimming through some things and found they finally name wake surfing by name now as protected. People were given tickets in some cases because they were closer to the boat than 50' while over wake speed. It is good to see the very conservative state of Virginia write this in! Not sure when it was added but had to be fairly recent.

This was #3 under speed laws.
"It shall be unlawful to operate any motorboat greater than no wake speed when within 50 feet or less of docks, piers, boathouses, boat ramps, and people in the water. This definition does not prohibit the pulling of a skier with a rope of less than 50 feet, nor a person accompanying the motorboat (wake surfing) provided the motorboat is propelled by an inboard motor."

Thats pretty awesome, I have never heard of such an issue but glad to see its being recognized. I also like the fact it's listed as Inboard boat.

I liked that also about the inboard. It would be good to see "with swim platform" also. I have seen what some people will do with boats around here.
It would be nice to see them change 50' to 100' but that is another story.

Did anyone notice they were driving in a circle?
Plus with that first person, the boat appeared to be going fast.

I believe that was new as of July 1. That's when all the new DGIF laws go into place for us here in VA. I guess it was supported heavily by the folks on lake Anna and lake gaston as they have the largest number of participants in the sport at this time.
