I have a pair of Erickson Retractable Ratchet Straps with push buttons. The "retracting" feature is broke, but the straps work otherwise.

The way that the straps are supposed to work is that you put the handle in the all the way down position and push the red button and the straps (without tension on them) are supposed to retract onto their spool. That part of these is broken, likely an internal spring failed.

They still can be pulled out quickly by pushing the red button (with the handle down). And they can be ratcheted in a few clicks at a time as you'd do to tighten the transom down. It's just the ability to quickly retract the webbing that isn't working.

So if anyone in the lower 48 states wants to pay shipping (shouldn't be too much, I get great deals on FedEx ground through work), I'll give these to you for free.

I'm curious if your commercial account can beat a medium flat rate box

At certain weights, yes. We're looking at $11 for a 6 to 7 pound box to him in AL. Whereas a medium flat rate would be $11.95 commercial and $13.45 at Post Office (retail & online).

So beat it by $1 to $2.50

Not a huge margin, but it works for me. That said, if it was much heavier, it'd probably be a push and USPS would eventually be cheaper.
