Rookie season with boat.
Cant seem to find sweet spot i have a 2015 OBV with 1200lbs stock ballast.
What is the best way to add ballast
Replace stock bag and increase timers or buy a seperate bag and pump system i am 40yrsold getting into this 2 kids 6 and 8 yrs old
Any rcomendations for which brand 2 buy.
I dont want to have to bring lots of people to make it happen!!

you will read a lot about different size bags for the OBV. Since you are starting new, I would go with the 950's for the rear.
and yes....either build a suck gate or get a skateboard ramp. I'm not yet convinced the suck gate is the best choice for the OBV, but the skateboard ramp works real well.

Here's what I added to my '13 OBV which significantly increased the wave for surfing:
- removed stock 400# bags and added 900# Sumo bags to both rear lockers (750# also work, the 1100# are just too big)
- added a 650# IBS piggy-backed off the center locker bag (which doesn't fill all the way, but probably adds 500-600# more to the bow)
- replaced stock prop with Acme 1847 (you could also use Acme 1433....I opted for 1847 which seems to be a bit better for the occasional slalom skiing I do) to deal with all the extra ballast - prop replacement of some kind will definitely be needed if you add all this extra ballast
- and then added the suckgate as mentioned above (which I'm still trying to dial in to the best location on the hull but seems to work very well)
This combination has worked out for us.
