I've read all the threads on adding the 2nd fill/drain to the port side leg of the IBS. Looking for some thoughts on adding a Y to the hose on the starboard side between the hard tank and IBS and running a hose around the bow on the floor again the inside wall over to the port side fill/drain. Would that work to drain the bag from both legs?

My main concern is getting the water from both legs out. I usually have a bunch on the port that gets "stuck" when I empty.

I think you are proposing a new hose that would lay next to the IBS? If so, then no, this won't solve your problem. It's a gravity problem, the water can't move side to side because the middle of the bow is higher than the sides.

You don't think there is enough suction from the pump to pull the water through? There's enough to empty most of the port side leg, I just want to get that last bit. I hear you on the gravity thing which I was unsure about.

With a vent line, there is no suction.

How about using a check valve in the vent line?

If you have a hard center tank, a check valve on the ibs vent is not an option.

Thanks, I was thinking of a bag.

Thanks, I kinda figured it was a gravity thing. I was trying to avoid cutting a hole on the port side. My plan now is to change out the elbow with a T at the rear vent of the center hard tank and cut that dang hole on the port side.

Not trying to Hijack your thread just didn't want to start a new one since this is relevant. I have my center locker sac and my IBS sac piggybacked, how are you guys even filling the IBS? by the time water gets to mine the locker bag pops the door open and no way of closing it back down. I have the Sumo 800 lb Sac in my locker. its 65"x18"x18" which is smaller than the gravity games sac a lot of guys are running so I don't understand how y'all are filling both in a piggy back system? thanks!

Let your ibs fill then step on the door on the center bag. It will push water out the vent and good to go

Wouldn't the water just pour back into it from the IBS though?? especially when under way and gravity is pushing water towards the back???

Yes it would... but is it that big of a deal? The only "fix" for this sort of setup would be some sort of latch that could hold the locker closed and limit the bag from filling all the way. Our door pops up when it's full, and the cup holders pop up when the IBS is full. It makes for a trip hazard but we don't really move around that much when surfing so it's not a big deal to me.

My IBS always seems to slowly lose water when surfing. It will be busting cups up than 30 mins later half the water is gone. No leaks anywhere, only thing I can think is it is siphoning itself out the vent line.

Same here. It's not siphoning out, it's just "leaking" back through the impeller. The impeller makes a pretty good, but not perfect seal; so when it's stopped it's not a perfect check valve. I just bump it on when I see the cup holder back down. Likewise, my center ballast will fill a little (from empty) since it is below the water line and especially while underway since I'm using the original scoop thru-hull (grinding that off is also on my low priority to-do list)

Glad to know I'm not alone. Thanks man. I kept looking in hull thinking I was losing water and leaking into bilge.

Well guess I need to get a stock 500 bag from somewhere or put in some ball valves somewhere because when I'm saying my center bag pops the door its like bulging out and the door is almost completely open once the IBS starts filling. This is the first season I've had the IBS and before I'd just stop filling the locker bag when I could see the door getting pushed on. but now it completely pops the door open before it starts filling the IBS. Should I move the piggyback line to vent out of the back of the locker bag(towards stern)??

I just put my foot on the door.

I tried that and as soon as I would let the pressure off the door, it would come flying open and I wouldn't be able to shut it again. So I guess mine is squishing out more than yalls?? were the lockers smaller in the older boats?

Fly High Distribution Flow Manifold work well for me. Let's you switch between locker and IBS. They sell on Wakemakers. Not cheap though.
