We tried the first build of a suck gate. We did plywood before doing a cutting board. The first cut looked like this:

24426

We ride goofy, so the starboard side wake was great:

We were filled in the back with 750s, and hte center was about 1/2 filled. We ride goofy, and the driver side was one of the best waves we have had. We tried switching it to hte port side we could not even get a wake to form. Has anyone tried setting up port? Do we need to overweight that side?

Also, we were getting a little bit of roostertail from the gate. We had it tucked right under the ridge, so I am not sure if it was the correct height out of the water. Any one tried it lower?

Thanks!

Any weight up front? I am trying to decide if I need to bite the bullet and get an IBS. Building a suck gate soon.

If you are loading up the rear lockers with either 750s or 900s then you will definitely need the IBS as that 400 in the center just won't cut it.

We have 1-2 people up front (actually, one and a dog). Goofy side was great, normal side.. icky.

I run 1100s and run about 60% full with me and a driver and couple minions in boat. I also fill ibs and hard tank about 70%. My wave is awesome on both sides with my suck gate. I am gonna sack out and see what I can get next time out. Just don't think my 330 will like it too much, even with diesel prop. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160621/2e7c51aedb098062191961a629724497.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160621/6e475799e2a52519c30e6540d2035ddd.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160621/e2fd4989e094aea2a5e0c5bf0b420d55.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160621/3fb6289ee256bbdcec18d36803308066.jpg

We run 1500 up from in our Mojo. Bow weight is mandatory.

I have the 330 in mine and we surf with 4200 lbs of ballast plus people. I run the 2079 acme and have no problems jumping out of the hole and right to speed.

Damn... Wonder if the different Hull makes any difference on Mojo. I am running Acme 1617 prop as recommended by Wakemakers. Sure growls a lot when it is sacked out.

Not sure which boat you have, Tapatalk doesn't show signatures. I noticed on the Mondo we had to mount the gate on the low flat part of the hull, under the ridge. We had to let some ballast out of the non surf side. We tried even ballast at first with poor results. Try letting out enough ballast to where your gate is close to the water line.

We found it was best on the Mondo to have the 900 half full on non surf side regardless of which, full on surf side, center full, and we had another 250 on the floor and 2-3 people. Goofy wake was naturally better, regular was still very good. Overall very happy with the gate performance on that boat.
