Hi! We have a 2015 Mojo Surf Edition stock. I have been surfing for 1 season. I was trying to do 360's at the end of last season on my OBrien Maha Wakesurfer 53. I was thinking about a shim board but I really don't know much about the different styles or even what "push" means.

I am also looking for a better board for my husband. He is about 190 and neither the Maha nor our Space Pickle really fit him right. He can drop the rope but doesn't get really long rides.

I would like to stay around 300-400 per board.

Here is a picture of our wave.24290

Thanks for your help.

If you're looking for a skim, a good board for the money is the Lakewakes flying saucer. it's fast and light, but tough. We've been happy. Tell Mark I referred you and it never hurts to ask if he'll give a deal.

Push is the term people use for the force or energy the wave has to propel you forward. Surf style boards tend to have more aggressive fins and (big generalization) are great for carving and slashing the wave. Whereas skim seem to help with spins on waves that are longer and not as tall. (another generalization).

I like riding "surf style" and have been very happy with my Doomswell. There are a lot of high end board manufacturers that make amazing boards and will make them specifically for your husband's weight and riding style/skill. Lots are happy with Soulcraft as another high end custom board.

There's so many options out there if you include the big manufacturers like Ronix, Hyperlite, Liquid Force, etc.
