I have a 14 Mojo that is used for mainly wakesurfing and tubing. Messed up the prop this weekend so a getting ready to buy a replacement. While surfing we normally have 3000 to 3500lbs plus people. Does anyone have any experience using the Acme 2079 over the 1235? Don't really care about a few miles per hour on the top end. Pulling power and efficiency are more important to me.

Thanks

I have a Craz. Just swapped from the 1235 to 2079 over the winter and it's night-and-day different. I'm running around the same ballast setup as you and was able to plane out just fine with everything full. It was a bit of a dog last fall with the 1235. As you noted, you'll lose a few mph on top end, but that doesn't matter.

Great prop, another money prop is the 2315 (https://www.wakemakers.com/acme-2315-propeller.html?gclid=CjwKEAjw1Iq6BRDY_tK-9OjdmBESJABlzoY7hpJZI4i381u5L6Vmht4jTYSZE6Smt7XL1U cmBGveTBoCQ4nw_wcB). Same as the 2079 but 15" instead of 14.5" and made my MB a whole new boat. Right now I'm pretty impressed with the stock wake prop they offer and I think it's the OJ945 (15"x13p). The real test will be when I get the 820's in the rear and need to get to wake speed.

Another question. Who do you recommend to repair my existing prop. Damage is minor (I think) with the end of one blade slightly curled towards the front of the boat. No nicks or other damage.

Nettle prop is where I would look to buy from and for repair. If you buy from them they will give you a 50.00 off coupon for repair also. Their price was cheapest when I called to buy my new prop for my supra.

Definitely fix the old one and keep for your back up.

Hmmm this has me thinking ... I have the 1235 now and about to add the 1100s to the rear lockers. I noticed it felt a bit sluggish when I had it weighted down with ballasts and people last summer.

Sounds like the 2079 is the way to go?

I have the 2773 prop with the 440 raptor and I couldn't plane out with ballasts full. I do slalom ski so I need some top end speed as well. We are at 5500 ft alt. Don't know what options I really have. Wonder if the 2079 would give me the top speed to stay at 32 without revving too much? Sounds like 2079 is a good prop for slower speeds at my alt.

I started with the 1235 and went to 2079 and its a huge difference. With the 1235 and weighted I could barly get to 13mph if I wanted. With the 2079 the boat will almost plane out with only one side loaded. Its a torque prop for sure.

I really like our 2079 and it does suck a little more fuel when wake boarding but its worth it for the power out of the hole.

We generally run 3500lbs surfing and 6-10 people, boat has no problem getting to speed quick and holding steady. we run around 3100-3300 rpm
When wake boarding it runs 24mph just fine and sits right at 4K rpm which is higher then I prefer but we don't do much wake boarding.

Great thanks ... I'll add it to the list :D

2 threads going on about props
Can't wait for my larger bags to really test out this OJ945 (15"x13p) at wake speeds and a boat load with full gas. I was thinking that I might have to up to the 2315 (15"x12p) and see what the RPM's do there. Will be out for the holiday weekend to really get numbers since I have lead that will act in having bigger bags in the rear. For the life of me I can't remember what RPM's are at with wake speeds with my current setup.
Hope to get a chance to learn this wake over the weekend...

I have a 2079 prop that I need to sell. The guy i bought my boat from put it on and its to big for my LSV. I just had it checked at my local prop shop and it is new condition and pulls like a BEAST. Call or text me at 912-617-5302 if interested.
