Larger wake plate- 2014 mondo

If I have this right the new boats come with a larger wake plate. Has anyone just riveted an extension to the old one to match the same surface area?

A few times trying to board with the boat fully loaded the boat wouldn't get on step is the reason I'm asking.

I would recommend a new prop. My boat wouldn't plain out fully loaded. Upgraded to the 2079 and it was a night & day difference.
