Got an 08 moomba mobius lsv with the 5.7L, 1100lbs front sack and 750 lbs rear sacks. I also have what I believe could be a 500 lbs mobile bag. I typically have 4-6people on theboat including me. I'm still trying to set my wave up right and I've just been filling up my side bag and front bag and experimenting with the 500 lbs bag up front but maybe half full.

I am looking for some extra tips on how to get the wave longer and a taller. It seems to only get between my ankles and shins. And i sometimes have to fight to stay in the sweet spot. I have the wake plate all the way down and perfect pass set at 10.5 to 11 mph.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading

I would put the wake plate almost all the way up for starters, especially with so much weight up front. That said, check out this thread:

1st) sounds like your wake plate is in the wrong position--you want the plate up (gauge needle pointed to bow up)
plate up=taller wave, plate down=longer wave

2nd) only fill one side in the rear--you want that boat leaned over--I would dang near have the rear corner of my rub rail in the water at rest

3rd) have your people sit on the surf side

4th) look into what is called a ghetto gate--do a search, lots of info on here, this could be the single best thing to add and it can be done very cheap with big rewards in wave tuning

good luck

I have an 08 lsv and have an awesome wave with and with out the ghetto gate. Regardless, I run 1100 in the rear surf side locker, 300-400 lbs in the non-surf side locker. 400 lbs in the ski locker and 650 in the bow. Wake plate 3/4 to 7/8 up. 10.5 mph.

Also, what moombadaze says about where people sit is important. I typically have most people sit towards the surf side back corner.

Play with having most of the people in the back surf side like stated above but also put another person or two in the front. Two people who like to talk. I have found a few hundred pounds up front can make a huge difference. Keep in mind when you move 300 lbs of meat sacks to the front you have just removed 300 lbs from the rear. You can have someone on that surf side (with no surfer) look at the wake as you move people and weight around. When it looks bigger put a surfer on there and adjust again. You will have lost the weight of a surfer but it can be frustrating to surf while it is changing in big amounts.
Be patient, it is a VERY long process to dial in a good wake and it changes constantly with different people, fuel level and so on.
I am sure others will do it differently and there are a ton of good opinions on this site.

In my 06 LSV, I thought it had a great surf wake very easily, although short. I'd often surf with 1100 left rear corner, 400 stock belly, and a bag under left seats maybe 150-200lb. Surfed all day long with just a driver. Wake plate all the way up.

I have no idea how you ride obviously, but from my experience helping many people surf better I've found a lot of times it comes down to skill and your board, not the size of the wake. Although I've been on some pretty terrible wakes, but your boat shouldn't be one if them!

Btw I had no weight in the other side, and adding weight up front will lengthen the pocket. A ghetto gate or other surf aid is not necessary, but very effective.
